UEFA's problem is that Platini voted for Qatar... Blatter didn't.

Platini's going to have to explain that.

It's going to get very interesting though - UEFA's only genuine clout is the national teams in a World Cup... which makes a boycott his nuclear option, but it's the same TV companies backing CL that back the World Cup too, so he's going to have trouble.

You tell em Sepp his closing speech.

It is my congress, I have the right to make the closing remarks. This is a very important congress. You see I am in a good mood. I was a little bit nervous today, but now I am the president of everybody, I am the president of the whole Fifa.

This game is important, but more important, enjoy life!

Just like all people in a position of power, blatter is never going to give it up lightly especially when he can have women nearly 30 years younger than him hanging on his arm.

Like Ive said, he's been very, very clever to make sure none of the shit splashes him.

But this prince from jordan was never a credible challenger was he? I mean where in the fuck in world football are jordan? No-fucking-where.

But, even a heavyweight would have struggled to topple blatter. His power base of African, Asian and South America FA's do not see him the way the rest of the world do.

UEFA could hurt him though. UEFA is the richest and most powerful in the FIFA confederations. Money and a boycott of FIFA competitions may have the desired effect of weakinging FIFA but the big question is, does UEFA have the balls and wherewithall to do anything rather than just talk the talk? myself I doubt it because platini still harbours ambitions to one day head FIFA.

Maybe unseating him would be a start?

Lest we concentrate too much on Blatter, tomorrow Wembley will host the FA Cup final. The two clubs have been given 25,000 tickets each. Wembley holds 90,000. That means a significant portion of those remaining 40,000 tickets will go to the FA 'family.' Of the 25,000 allocation to each club a portion of those tickets will go to the Arsenal and Villa 'families.'

And the reason so many tickets go elsewhere is to ensure the FA trough remains nice and full. UEFA are no different. They've all got their snouts in the trough.

EDIT: ITV news referring to said cup final as a beacon of integrity that retains a place in the hearts of fans. Apparently it will allow football to retain some of its dignity. FIFA - bad. The shining light of integrity that is the FA - good. Fucking hilarious.

When you think about the money circulating within these organisations...for a start think of the money generated when a five figure fine is imposed for suggesting a referee is poor...with all that money in the sport, why do dad's have to pick up dog shit, needles and glass off shit football pitches up and down the country so that their local kids team kids can play competitively.

Pretty much sums up the hypocrisy of this country I wish more people in the media would out the people who control football here.

The FA are complete amateurs compared to FIFA .  I would agree they should never have got involved in the bidding for the WC and taken a moral stance but there is some hope for them under Dyke whereas FIFA are doomed under Blatter. That African led endorsement will be their death sentence, The hubris of Blatter is staggering just dismissing the US led allegations. This is the US Attorney General of the the United States , the most powerful lawyer on the planet and Blatter is stood there pulling tongues at her the stupid deluded cunt. Says something when the head of footballs ruling body wouldn't be able to set foot in the USA for fear of arrest .

Yeah but usa are just pissed their man didnt win, americans not geeting de facto control of the game is a victory in my eyes.

The Attorney General is cutting her teeth on FIFA. She worked with the Lawyer guy that Blatter got to do the report which he then suppressed . It's got nothing to do with the Yanks getting control of the game this is Loretta Lynch building her career on taking down Blatter.

There has been a grand jury looking at FIFA since 2010. It's also has the added bonus of potentially embarrassing the Russians hence Putin's paranoid ramblings earlier this week,

This is all top table stuff now not some sour grapes over a failed bid for the WC.

The Yanks take corruption in sport very seriously hence the nonsense over a few under inflated footballs recently which was incomprehensible to anyone outside America

Another view.

http://america.aljazeera.com/opinions/2015/5/democratize-fifa-now.html

The fella on BBC World Football phone in nailed it last night. Tim Vickery mocked Europe for putting forward Prince Ali as a stooge to stand up for Europe's interests.

Attack a so-called medieval institution by putting up a Jordanian prince from a country that has no elections, fucking mental.

Bollocks, fbi dont just go in after 24years of law breaking theyve been well aware of unless theres the political will above, the fbi have got dirt on anyone they want to take down, they sit on these things. You say yourself added bonus regards putin as if its some magic co incidence.

The only place they have remit is by claiming due to the banking going through the USA but they really havent charged their banks with anything which is their actual remit. When you say very seriously, as in chase blatter around the world like the worlds policeman?

its common knowledge the jordanian candidate going for blatter was financed by them and was their man. When it was clear he wasnt going to win the vote they moved to put pressure on blatters voters, they wanted him out before indicting him since he could claim refuge in any number of countries.

Blatters no angel, until you compare him to bush or reagan, fifas no angel unless you are comparing it to the fbi and the US banks who caused the financial meltdown and facillitates all kinds of nefarious shit but Im supposed to stand on one side of this beef? Seriously?

If you think the USA are doing this for the good if the game, for spirting integrity, I suggest you go and enjoy a walk around that ISiS wonderland democracy in Iraq and clear your mind of imaginings of USA noble intentions.

Theres nothing incomprehensible about under inflated balls we had that shit in cricket years ago, smearing shredded wheat on wickets to keep them sticky, balls that had air let out and cricket bats that had admitted on question of sport they were tennis raquets.

News is just breaking that both Barclays and Standard Chartered will investigate whether or not their banks were used to channel bribes to FIFA officials. The two banks, along with HSBC, were referred to in the FBI investigation into corrupt FIFA officials last week.

Fred west just released a statement saying hes gonna investigate himself to try to determine if he may have splattered some brains.

If they broke the law, which they have, and the fbi have admitted the banks broke the law, does it not seem weird the fbi arent investigating them, they announce they will investigate themselves while the fbi goes off after international organisations on committed on foreign sovereign soil? The only part the fbi should be going after within its remit is the banks who facilitated it all in their back yard. Whose committed worse deeds, fifa or these banks?

Look at the sponsors, budweiser, visa, mcdonalds coca cola, have known whats going on for years probably more evidence on it than the fbi, all american companies happy to roll in the shit now threatening to pull out of fifa etc as if these multi billion profit corporate entities didnt know what was going on or are somehow shocked by the news. When you hand over sponsorship money in the hundred billion range, you do your homework, theyve profited massively from it all, maybe the uSA should deal with its own entities closer to home if they are serious.
