Maybe we've had a debate on this before, but there's just too many votes here.  How can anyone prefer rugby union to rugby league?

 

Upper class toffs hoofing the ball to eachother in a stop/start bore-fest versus huge wools battering through eachother in a fight to the death?

I don't watch much of any sport bar the obvious and even then I only watch the obvious team, but these were/are my favourite other sports to watch. It's completely about glory, I know, but when push comes to shove I'm not arsed about any of them really; there's only one sporting team that I really care about:

 

1. Jordan-era Bulls basketball

2. Ashes cricket when England win

3. Boxing when there's a British world champ: Nas and Lennox were my favourites. I obviously love all the classic greats too, in my limited way.

4. Payton-era Bears American Football

5 = Olympics. I know that isn't one sport, but I'll watch any old shite in an Olympic summer and love it.

5 = Ryder Cup golf when Europe win.

Despite our pretensions to civilisation, it seems we still like nothing better than to see two fellas knock fuck out of one another. 

 

All very atavistic.

 

You just have to see the comments on most news articles to see that, some article about fat people I saw the other day and people are advocating they should be starved to death and killed because they are unemployed. 

 

Any articles about the Middle East or Islam and people are essentially advocating ethnic cleansing. We're nothing like those nasty Nazis/Khmer Rouge/Former Yugoslavians though, we're civilised!

 

The human race is closer in behaviour to a virus than the other animals.
