Oh goodie, Orban wins a 4th term by landslide!

What the fuck is wrong with people?

Many things but a lot if my blame falls on the opposition, they’re a disorganised mess and have not been able to put together a credible power bid for 12 years now

Sad thing is, unless I've misread, isn't the best placed opposition party just a watered down version of Orban's mob anyway?

Seems to be a choice of bastard or double bastard at the moment! Saying that, not a whole lot different to UK Politics, just more extreme!

The opposition this year was a coalition of the six main parties fronted by a centre-right, religious guy (the watered down Orban). In the U.K. this would be something similar to the BNP, UKIP, Lib Dems, Labour, Greens and the Socialist Workers teaming up - and then probably having a majority so slim that they’d need everyone to agree and vote for every piece of legislation. I would give that govt about 6 months max before it collapsed in chaos.

The best bit of news was the referendum that they tried to do at the same time with the anti-LGBTQ legislation. The questions were so skewed that you would have to vote for the legislation, however the opposition asked people to spoil their ballots rather than vote. This meant that the number of votes did not reach the 50% of electorate that is required for a referendum to be valid

Brilliant work.

This is interesting from the French run offs.

Nothing much we haven't seen before, but more proof that, maybe, that there's something ideological paradoxical going on and a large part of the voting public, the UK included, are in varying states of cogitive dissonence.

The third man: Both candidates are likely to spend the next two weeks wooing Mélenchon’s voters on the far left. He called four times for his sizeable number of supporters to avoid voting for Le Pen, but he also didn’t directly endorse Macron. That decision could have consequences for the president — recent polling from Ipsos shows that half of Mélenchon’s voters don’t have a preference between Le Pen and Macron, while the other half is split, with a preference for Macron.

It's all feeling a bit Clinton/Trump. The left may stay at home, and the outsider could sneak in thanks to a lower turnout.

So it's as predicted the two thundercunts in final round, in which thundercunt 1 will win again.

Spanners right when he points out the ideological change happening in France and how both the remaining candidates are now trying to win Melenchon supporters votes. The left did far better than expected whilst the centre left party had their worst result in history polling a derisory 1.6% of the vote. If the left candidates had united around Melenchon they'd have pushed Le Putid Penn into third, but alas..

Melenchons sound, interesting though to hear the fury off some if he posted his left wing veiws on here, especially his thoughts on the EU thread, he'd unleash the hounds of hell and the putrid fragrance of boiling piss wafting from some posters would be strong enough to travel all the way to the Paris.
