I’ve had great fun poring over this story during the day for a bit of a laugh but the BBC making it the main headline and calling in special correspondents on the Six o clock news is just ludicrous

I had no interest in this until the photo saga. It's very, very odd that they release a bad composite and then even weirded that 'Kate' claims responsibility for it. If she's just a bit poorly, they've absolutely fucked this. If she's under the patio, they've absolutely fucked this. They have absolutely fucked this.

The type of things seen in these closeups are not Photoshop 'editing', they are shocking AI mashups. If she had edited the image, that still wouldn't explain why she would supposedly edit her own hands. For an institution paying indecent sums for PR to make them look their best, presumably also including at least one photographer who can master Photoshop, nobody has thought to review that image carefully before it was put out. Releasing that thinking 'The plebs will never notice, hawhaw' is the absolute epitome of their ignorance and arrogance.

 

One thing they've not accounted for is that with AI becoming so much more common, is that so too are the mistakes it shows up. They may have pored over the faces and choosing the expressions making them all look so 'happy family', but missed out the smaller details that shows them for what they are - massive fucking frauds.

 

Also, interesting, but not at all surprising, that when it comes to having someone to blame, it falls upon the woman, the 'outsider' to take the flak.
