FSP vs Pennant

I know Sinama Pongolle has fallen out of favour with Rafa and will be sold as soon as a buyer can be found but, in terms of football skills and what they bring to the team, can someone tell me what the fack exactly is the difference between these two players.

 

I admit I have not seen Pennant play a lot but from what I have seen I think these two lads are VERY similar. Can't we save the 6.2 million and give FSP a couple good cuffs behind the ear to get him to straighten up?

 

I trust Rafa's judgement but I am not too sure that Pennant is made for LFC at all!!

Anyway, back to the point of this thread. I suspect that when the red mist / rose tinted glasses / whatever is taken away, there probably isn't that much to choose between them. Benitez has fallen out with Pongolle, it would seem, and fells that Pennant would do a better job as a RM than Pongolle, but if I remember back through those dark GH years, Pongolle was brought in as an attacker. Personally, I wouldn't buy now - I'd rather we waited until Jan, when I believe we'll have a lot more money at our disposal.
