This season no. But it didn't happen overnight - teams started dropping off us a couple years ago - even top teams.

It is why Klopp brought Thiago in - to give us some creativity in possession because there was less space behind.

Defending deep and hitting long diagonal balls over our full backs is the way for lesser teams to beat us. Without Thiago, we'd find it even more difficult to score.   Fortunately, we've got Jota back, who can play in tight spaces, and Nunez, who makes his own rules, so I'm a lot more optimistic than I was.

Having said all that, Madrid will come with a different game plan which will give us more opportunity and space to play in.

Seeing Madrid park the bus was backhanded praise indeed

The way Pope bounced his noggin off the ball to start the red card move deserves mention as well.

Thoroughly entertaining passage of play.

And the kick he gave Trippier. Beautiful from start to finish.

Yes. He's earned his place in the pantheon of pitch headers alongside these two beauts:

The other detail I loved - the way he's almost off the pitch, and then the thought comes into his mind, 'I wonder if I can persuade him to think again?' So he turns back and starts going towards the ref again before reason finally intrudes. Priceless.

No doubt been mentioned in the thread but last night I thought Carragher was unbearable, if you didn't know the game in this country and was listening you'd have him down as an ex Newcastle player.

Tyler was Tyler, expected nothing less than his awful responses to our goals being beaten in enthusiasm by corner kicks for the opposition.
