I was very surprised FSG didn’t take the 150m offer, it seems like Henry’s dream deal.

They're desperate to get Salah. This has those coutinho vibes to it. We turned down 80m or whatever, held through the window only to almost double the fee. They came in at 100m, they were back in seconds at 150m. They're likely pay 250m if they need to. Come January or next summer, the offer won't be lower than what's on the table. Providing this Saudi thing doesn't go pop, LFC know Salah's value to them, so his price won't go down.

Basically this. For other players its the financial offer of a lifetime that they would likely never get again if they don't take it now. Mo will be the biggest recruit possible for a team in that part of the world now or in the future, and IMO him and his agents lack of desperation to leave shows they know the stupid money on offer will be there whether it's now, next summer or even 2-3 years from now because of his standing in that part of the world.

Leao plays on the left.

All the interesting wingers do but watching Leao he looks like he could make the switch, looked very comfortable on the left either cutting in or going wide.

Anyway i'm going full Dave and claiming Bryan Mbeumo as my boy to come in next year and hold the role for Doak.

Nico Williams is another we have been linked with before. If that happens we need to resign Neco Williams

If the Saudi's are intent on being twats again next summer and offer stupid money for Diaz then we add the money to Salah's money and go get Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the left and then Moussa Diaby (or if you want to convert Leao to the right then him instead) for the right.

I'm off to meet Schmadtke at the villa.

They just don't care - they can hardly play Lavia all season and still sell him for 50m next season...or even if they don't get good money they are not arsed....just like they have done with loads of others they have bought who are either shite or not been given a fair crack.

Mad club.

Leao might be the right one to go for, although he definitely is a left winger right now. keep an eye on how Fati and Bakayoko get on as well. Diaby maybe?

Mbeumo and Bowen would both be handy stop-gaps for a few seasons, but would definitely be pushing focus to others in the team.

Gonna struggle to sell at a profit when he's sitting on 8 years and a massive wage.

No idea but he got rid of a good few. Beckham, Stam, Ronaldo, Keane etc when still playing top football. Agreed the last day makes it unlikey so apply a premium.

He admitted Stam was a mistake. Keane was 34, was injured with a broken toe and had a bad hip while he would never have sold Ronaldo if he had a choice. Beckham was a big call alright but he was moving towards a 433 at that stage so it was easier to get rid of a wide midfielder.

Yeah Keane was pushing it a bit and likely finished

Seems to make no odds to them....How much did they lose on Werner and others!

Werner was under the old regime, they're going to need to sell for a profit now which is why they're plundering Cobham to sell anyone that doesn't have a book value.

Mbeumo would offer that same work rate Mane did when he came in. Think if we do change the way we attack without Mo another big strong bastard to play up top with Nunez and worry teams over the top would cause teams issues. He isn't in Mane class, at least not yet but he is that age bracket that we seem to like and has improved each year.
