Werner was under the old regime, they're going to need to sell for a profit now which is why they're plundering Cobham to sell anyone that doesn't have a book value.

It'll get dicey in about two years at this rate.

They have to sell players with 'no book value' for big money.

They are working on five year values, so spending 500m today is spread out over five seasons in accounting, so they 'only' need to sell 100m worth to technically break even.

Wild strategy and really could go one of two extreme ways.

All the interesting wingers do but watching Leao he looks like he could make the switch, looked very comfortable on the left either cutting in or going wide.

He's the sort of player you adjust your set-up for either way, I reckon Szobozslai would be comfortable on the right, and I think we've even tried Diaz there a few times and he looked decent. The important thing is trying to replicate the kind of impact Salah brings rather than getting bogged down in positions.

Mbeumo would offer that same work rate Mane did when he came in. Think if we do change the way we attack without Mo another big strong bastard to play up top with Nunez and worry teams over the top would cause teams issues. He isn't in Mane class, at least not yet but he is that age bracket that we seem to like and has improved each year.

Yeah I was thinking after posting that we should be after the next mane, because we won't find the next Salah. There's not one out there.

Think Salah will be more provider this season anyway. He'll still walk to 20 goals easily enough, if he stays the season.

Leao might be the right one to go for, although he definitely is a left winger right now. keep an eye on how Fati and Bakayoko get on as well. Diaby maybe?

Mbeumo and Bowen would both be handy stop-gaps for a few seasons, but would definitely be pushing focus to others in the team.

Diaby is good.

There will probably no such thing as FFP etc in next few years as uefa and the pl et al battle the threat of the saudis....

Not sure removing financial restrictions strengthens anyone in the PL, much less the rest of Europe

They'll see it as fighting fire with fire and especially if they let the saudis in in some way....it will of course all end in tears and is a terrible idea, but the stupidity and short term greed is rampant.

Over the next few years UEFA are making FFP more restrictive, obviously it's dependent on the penalty system and how rigidly they stick to that but at least it's a nod towards getting a grip on it.

We're going from a max 90% of revenue spent on Transfers, Wages and Agents fee's in 2023 to 80% in 2024 and 70% by 2025 coupled with FIFA's new rules on agents and fee's that will stop clubs buying influence with exorbitant payments to agents.

Not perfect and might not work but better than loosening the rules.

Just feel the saudi thing will cause massive change....we'll see. Not saying it should happen or it happening is right, just feel it may.

This is where FIFA should step in with a standardised FFP that is applicable throughout world football for the good of the game.

They won't though. Can't think why.

Why are people pretending like we’re not gonna pay £90m for Jarrod Bowen? He’s on fire and he’s literally shagging Dani Dyer you slags!

Had to google Dani Dyer - fuck me she looks like one of about a million scruffy little 15 year olds trying too hard to look 18 in tarty gear from primark.
