Don't think it's in their interest either something like Chernobyl 2 happens, so hopefully they know what they can hit and with what and what is off limits.

The worry, is that the Russian armed forces and the chain of command, have become incompetent.

Well, this isn't messing about.

  • In September 2020, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved Ukraine’s new National Security Strategy, which provides for the development of the distinctive partnership with NATO with the aim of membership in NATO.
  • In response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, NATO has reinforced its support for capability development and capacity-building in Ukraine. The Allies condemn and will not recognise Russia’s illegal and illegitimate annexation of Crimea, and its destabilising and aggressive activities in eastern Ukraine and the Black Sea region. NATO has increased its presence in the Black Sea and stepped up maritime cooperation with Ukraine and Georgia.
  • NATO condemns in the strongest possible terms Russia’s attack on Ukraine of February 2022, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked. This is a grave violation of international law and a serious threat to Euro-Atlantic security.
  • The Alliance also condemns Russia’s decision to extend recognition to the separatist regions of eastern Ukraine.
  • NATO Allies call on Russia to immediately cease its military action and withdraw all its forces from in and around Ukraine.
  • NATO stands with the people of Ukraine and its legitimate, democratically elected president, parliament and government. The Alliance will always maintain its full support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders. Russia is now facing severe costs and consequences imposed by the whole international community.

Well that kept his people safe. Maybe not the wisest move in hindsight.

I'm not sure that's the wisest move at the moment either. Ukraine is on the verge of becoming another Aleppo.

Fair enough, impossible to disagree with that.

Can't argue with that either.

The problem with these Nato/Eu/USA statements acting tough is its not them who end up under the bombs, its the Ukrainian people.

Had a look at some pro-Russia accounts, interestingly, they all seem to be on message and are mostly focused on Donbas and surrounding area, not much mention that fighting is going on in the entire country and that Russian army is trying to take all of it.

Those that mention it share videos of Chechen fighters, one is of them taking over some police station near Kiev, replacing Ukrainian flag with their own and shouting Allahu Akbar. It's almost as if they don't get propaganda.

Channel 4 report from Odesa just on now, seems they are going to try to defend it because of its cultural significance as well as its strategic importance, be interesting what happens there, they putting mines on the beaches.

Three top Russian commanders have been offed, including a major general. That's amazingly shit.

"Captain Valery Chibineev, commander of the sniper company of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was killed during battles between units of the Russian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Gostomel."

According to a pro-Russain Twitter account.

I honestly don't know, I'm wondering if the Russians will try to take Odesa before striking Kyve, not sure how they'll try to play this or if the Ukrainians try to resist in Odessa and just get bowled over, I hope they do and I hope they keep them out, as they seem to be doing in Mariupol.

Is there a chance of some censorship in the Russian media?
