What were you most wrong about with this team?

I really thought we'd be racked by injuries again and due to that wouldn't have enough on the bench for late season games/finals, which given how the game transpired was incorrect, and is also testament to the work the nutrition, physio and medical teams are doing with the squad. I still think the squad can be added to so that we have even more depth and options, but the amount needing to be done is pretty minimal in comparison to previous seasons.

 

I too also thought Matip was a busted flush he has been in fantastic form and was excellent against Tottenham.

The beauty of success is the players dread missing out. When things arent going so well the odd strain here and there leads to a couple of weeks out.

 

Matip seems to have raised his game since Virgil came in as he knew he had to.

The fact Matip was coming towards the end of his contract may also given extra motivation.

Was pissed off we bought Salah. Didn't thing Gini would make any real impact, same with Fabinho who I hadn't even heard of and assumed Keita would be our player of the year. 

 

Happy to have got them all spectacularly wrong. 

 

I did however call Van Dijk years ago when he was at Celtic. If I keep saying it I swear they will have to put my name on his birth certificate.
