Think sturridge was offside for Moreno because the keeper was out there was only one defender between him and goal. Think it needs to be 2 and because keeper is normally last line of defence you only have to be behind the last outfield player.

 

It's not as easy as it looks to put the ball in from 50 yards at full pace but he also didn't see he had players onside to his right.

 

Could've been costly but wasn't.

I think you give Moreno too much credit if you reckon he actually calculated all this.

Is right. No problem taking it on but fucking hell to miss the target...all he has to do is literally stroke it - he was fresh so tiredness isn't an issue. Missing the target from there with no keeper or defender between you and the goal is laughable.

 

Thankfully it didn't cost us or ruin an otherwise gritty performance and great result.

He had other options. He could have run further on getting closer to the goal and then shot (although this is no guarantee he would have done any better), he could have passed right (assuming they knew how to stay onside, obviously Sturridge doesn't understand that as he was left in an offside position) or he could have shot as he did.

 

In all honesty I just think it fell to the wrong player in terms of getting a goal out of it. Still, 3 points are won and that's the most important thing.
