Someone is needed to welcome our 15,000 new members.

And anyway, liberalism has never been more needed than it is now, with the Tory assaults on liberty that heroes blocked for 5 years now being unleashed.

Sooner we get back to the true order of things - liberals vs conservatives, with irrelevant and discredited Marxian shit fucked off forever - the better.

Liberal and Labour merger with the unions fucked off? Could you see it. Liberal left wing alternative.

Could save both parties.

I wont vote Labour again with this lot. Would love to vote Liberal but you fucked it last time.

I really couldn't give 2 shits about labour but i'd love the impossible to happen and Corbyn win not because I think he could take Labour on to win or even get close but because he seems honest and will set a narrative that isnt trying to be sleek with the media or tow this bullshit terrified of seeming anti business mantra. It would be a breath of fresh air having a belligerent old fart just giving out shit, I couldnt really care less if  it cost labour hugely because I dont see them winning again ever with this tory light attitude nor would i want them too its better to be fist fucked by the Tories now to see if we end up with a reaction to it . I really like Bernie Sanders in the US, he answer every question pretty much without hesitation or fear of how it will be taken because he's talking about his own values openly. He's a Social Democrat lump it or like it. I reckon without doubt if their was even a chance he could get power he would be bumped off. oooh conspiratorial. I doubt he'd get the nod anyway because the rich media all want hillary and she's got the billionaire backing.

How fucking insane are that republican party though.

Every yank I know across the spectrum hates Hillary.

Never, ever, ever forget that this Tory majority has been made possible by the Lib Dems running interference for them for five years. I just hope you got a good fee for the PR work.

With every cut just sit back with a little bit of pride and say "I helped make that happen. I held my tongue for five years to allow them the space to do this".

Amazing how you can call Corbyn irrelevant and discredited with a straight face. A man who believes in the invisible hand, until it goes to a voting booth, picks him up and throws him into the bin.

She's still the favourite though isn't she. I think Sanders would be great for the US and as a by product the world. I like the idea of the financial transaction tax to generate revenue and in turn reduce speculation.

I read that in 1970 90 percent of financial flows were used to finance trade or investment in the real economy and only 10 percent was speculative, today more than 99 percent is speculative. Deregulating the banks and giving them free reign has created this huge casino banking system that exists to enrich a few and if it fucks up cost the rest of us.

Corbyn ideally but in reality he would be totally ripped apart by the media if Ed milliband was labelled Red Ed and constamtly vilified and humiliated by the media then Corbyn wouldn't stand a chance. He's only running to give the impression all voices will be heard across the "broad church". I don't want tory or Tory light. Corbyn has zero chance of success though. The media moguls set this countries opinions blair sucked murdoch willy to achieve his ends. Touché on allegedly fucking his wife in return.

The media wouldn't need to rip him apart, his own party would do that for him.  They are tories, the likes of him are tolerated, not embraced.

Also missed the point that many probably joining, like Labour, to make it less of a clusterfuck and change its direction a bit.

You know, away from sitting on your hands and holding your tongue when faced with horrible policy.

Seriously you don't have any understanding of Liberalism if you want to get back to 19th Century order of things.  Or, you do, really; that the wealthy have what they need and there will be trickle down to the ordinary man.

Liberals of the 1800s = New Labour.

Corbyn is what the heart says, but think it might be Mrs Balls.  Either way whoever gets it will be ousted before the next election as the 'new' lot from 2010 intake will push for a change in the election rules so that a leader can be challenged and dumped so whoever gets elected in this one will become a patsy.  And that squared jawed chump Tristram Hunt will take over.

Guest Numero Veinticinco

I'm not sure, but I meant in general. I'd say more people would vote for Cooper than the others.

I don't know what I'd do. I'm just tired of it all.

I would hope, like Sanders in the US, that if Corbyn won, he would at least speak his mind and be honest.

Despite the media in the States ignoring Sanders or calling him Socialist, no hoper candidate at every turn. When he actually speaks to people his popularity goes up, because he represents working (middle) class people.

In my ironic utopian world, all the right wing pricks, such as Toby Young, who have joined the Labour party to vote for Corbyn, will get him elected.

The media will attack whoever the Labour leader is (Red ED for fucks sake, anti business for saying people who work a full week should have enough money to live), we may as well give them a reason to attack him. Corbyn would, like Sanders, not care about upsetting multi millionaires, so would go on the attack and not be defensive all the time.

To be fair to the Telegraph readership, they've fucking crucified that twat in the comments section.

And, Scooby, from what I've seen, Corbyn doesn't seem in the least bit arsed about the right wing shit flung his way. He bats it away politely as well, which infuriates them. Look at his interview with that weasel faced woman from the Politics Show.

Is there really a Labour MP named Tristram?

Good God.

By the way,how is Dennis Skinner still a member of a party that barely represents anything he truly believes in?

Not for one second could I ever see Labour, the party of control and micro-management of people's lives, having the kind of Damascene conversion to individual liberty that would pave the way for such a thing.

I don't even know what the shit about the invisible hand is supposed to mean. Meaningless and incoherent rubbish.
