Is Rodgers becoming a laughing stock?

Houllier was experienced though, although not a big name, he was respected.

The game has changed even more since then, the pool of top class players available is smaller and they all want to be in the champions league and/or earning a retirement pot, it takes someone they respect to attract and motivate them to play.

Some may disagree, but I personally believe the loss of form shown by Gerrard is due to the fact he basically thinks he's pissing into the wnd with the whole thing, maybe not even consciously.

Big players want what they perceive to be the best, whether it's the wages, the car, or the boss.

I'd say you can apply that to half the squad.

We're a mid table team, not a mid table club. We're one of only five teams to own a European cup and our name is sung in grounds across Europe.

Real Madrid, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Milan, Liverpool.

Regardless of what owners, managers or signings conspire to put any of these great clubs in mid table, or even relegate them, it would change nothing about their status in the game. Any manager with balls would want the challenge of restoring them, any player with faith in that manager's abaility to do so - and adequatly paid - would want to get involved.

We earn enough money as a club, we have enough worldwide fans, respect and standing to do a far, far better fucking job than this absolute perpetual fucking SHITE.

I admire your fervour- a characteristic of the Rafanistas, but feel sure that you concede the impossibility of Rafa working with FSG/Ayre.

Rafa is Madrid bound, he is going home, and has nothing to gain by a return to Anfield now.

Aaahh a good old Xerxes statement wrote as fact, aint seen one of them in a while did you're journo friend tell you this and is it worth me putting a bet on?

Funny - because some fans think it is a job that Mourinhio would take! Don't necessarily agree with your negative opinion of the job - but I do agree it is becoming a job that I am not sure any manager can succeed in the short term - which is what they are being judged on now!

Two weeks ago we played City and gained plaudits for the way we had steadily improved - now fans are calling for a managers head two weeks later.

Nobody seems to be able to understand that poor results are what you get with a team in transition like us - there is always the potential for a poor performance, considering the end to last season and the abject performances (certainly away from home) - the first start is improving on that this season.

As for the cups - great, Stoke, Bradford, Cardiff (twice), Portsmouth (twice), Swansea and Birmingham have all reached cup finals in the last five years - it isn't a barometer of a good side.

Southampton comfortably beat Man city a week later, so the form is franked.

A southampton team with a brand new system and a manager who doesn't speak English!

Man City are a shadow of the team they were last year, yet are still miles ahead of us.

If it was a choice between Madrid and us then yes, I think he would choose Madrid being his hometown club etc.

I also hope that if w are looking again that they aren't stupid enough to not consider him at least. Although after last summers cunt of a hunt I'm not 100% convinced. We will end up with Martinez or something.

As much as I love Rafa if FSG get rid of Rodgers after one season they want fucking.

Well, if we win Brendan compliments his system and how the players are adapting.

We lose, and it's the players not adapting or individual errors, missed chances etc.

What the fuck will he say if we ever '' win ugly '' he might be lost for words.

Play badly and win works for me.

This is a major part of the problem for me.

We will never 'win ugly under Rodgers, his system doesn't allow for it.
