"Reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated," one club source told BBC Sport.

Truth is they haven't. You appointed Moyes and it's been a glorious shit-show ever since. Hope your next appointment works out just as well.

Be fair, all the top sides will step aside this summer and let United have the market to themselves, then each signing will work out perfectly in terms of being the right fit, settling fine in the North West of England, being the right type of player, the right type of person, finding form, handling the pressure, gelling with the others, etc.  All while recruiting from a position of relative weakness, which means it will take deals like the glorious value for money new contract the potato signed to get many of them through the door in the first place.

Keep up for goodness sake, nothing to see here.

I think they are the 4th oldest on average.

Average age of Top 7 squads

LFC - 26.3

CFC - 28.5

MCFC - 27.9

AFC- 26.7

EFC - 27.6

THFC - 26.2

MUFC - 27.7

Not much difference and you could also consider that both Giggs and Schwarzer singlehandedly add half a year to the average of their teams.

As said before, it's not the age of United's squad that is the problem, it's the fact that all their younger players are shit

I've loved what's happening to them.  Revelled in it.  One season since pish stain stepped down, and we are nearly back on our fucking perch, while they've oozed in the opposite direction, into the chaos we came from.  Shit manager to no manager, shit performances and shit results, breaking all sorts of records for shitness.  Whilst we sit at the top watching it unfold with wild glee.

What's not to enjoy right there ?

Will this gift never stop bestowing its favour upon us, even from beyond the grave?

"Moyes learned his fate when the story broke on various newspaper websites on Tuesday and is particularly unhappy about the way it was handled. He had a brief conversation with the club's press officer, Karen Shotbolt, but nobody in a senior position contacted him for the rest of the day."
