No matter what side of the Rafa argument you are on you can only be thankful for this day 8 years ago. So many fantastic memories: The Gerrard lifting the fans after the first goal. Smicers strike and Baros jumping backwards out of the way. Garcia almost killing Xabi after scoring from the rebound. Dudek's knowing nod after the save from Shevchenko. Carra having words with Jersey before the pens. At half time I was a broken man and to go from there to 3-3 was a emotional ride which I can hardly explain, as it was almost a state of disbelief. Thank you Rafa and thank you LFC. YNWA.

Will any Liverpool manager ever break Rafa's Premier League points record of 86? Is there anyone out there who can replace him as this club's greatest manager of the modern era?

Players bought: 2012-2013 Total money spent: 0 Players sold: 2012-2013 Total money brought in: 0 Net spend: 0 To me it seems obvious that when you look at Pascoe's spectacular success in the transfer market and compare it with any manager in our history, he is head and shoulders above them all. He also managed to attain a 100% win record and that was after he took over from the wreckage of Rodgers disastrous stewardship. I think he would crawl over broken glass to manage us, so, in my view, it seems obvious we should pull out all of the stops to bring him home. We would have unity.

So how great a manager was he? I am fortunate to have seen most of the games he played for us as a player, and many of the games he managed. His status as an LFC icon for everything he has contributed to the club is indisputable, but as a manager, where does he fit in? His roll call of honours won is staggering: Football League First Division (3): 1985–86, 1987–88, 1989–90 FA Cup (2): 1985–86, 1988–89 League Cup (1): 2011–12 Super Cup (1): 1985–86 FA Charity Shield (4): 1986,[87] 1988,[88] 1989,[89] 1990[90] Yet through no fault of his own, he was never able to test himself against the best of Europe, nor did he have the distraction of European fo…

We've all heard the whispers that this is why Souness, but to those who haven't, it is alleged that Joe Fagan told Graeme Souness that "they(the club's hierarchy) can't afford to sack me" at which point he began rubbing his hands vigorously. I just wanted to know if anybody had heard any corroborating evidence, or anything to dispute this claim? Also, I would ask that we not get bogged down in semantics as to what constitutes "rubbing".

I'm not one for stirring shit, but this fucking cunt was throwing games. 100%. First time for 50 years we get relegated, and he just happened to be a manc. Bring on the "he's gone get over it" from all the superfan twats with their head in the sand.

He Da Man Liverpool defeat dismays Benitez BBC Sport Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez did not hide his dismay after his side's sorry 2-0 defeat at Manchester United. "It is clearly one of my most disappointing days as manager of the club," said the Spaniard. "It is a game I know everybody at the club and the supporters want us to win, particularly at Old Trafford." The Reds have scored only one away goal - a penalty - in the Premiership this season and rarely looked like finding the net as they slumped to defeat. "Away from home we need to win to improve confidence," said Benitez. "We are controlling long spells of games, getting the ball in…

Great player and all. But his record as a manager were terrible. He could'nt get us out of the 2'nd division, even with legends like Billy Liddell at his disposal. Maybe Houllier was wrong after all?? I think you need to have been a horse to make a good jockey. Thoughts?
