Hope this is how its going to be. Crouch is good for us in away fixtures. At home we have a tendancy to hoof it up too him too many times. And it get bloody annoying. We hardly hoofed it today because we had to rely on footballers who enjoy it on the floor. If Rafa can spot out that Garcia is good off the bench and in home games and crappy in away games. he can definetly see that we play better football when he is not starting in our home games. However, he should start in away games for his ability to help the team keep possession.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Rafa is planning to transfer Robbie's brain into Cisse, a la Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr in the man with two brains. The result will be the perfect footballer. What remains will be sold to Everton. It is believed that Robbie Savage is the by-product of such an experiment.

After a good three points against Wigan it's time for what could easily be a third place decider. If we beat them tomorrow, I think we'll have that third spot in our pocket. It's still a long way to go of course, but that's the way I see it. As for the team, it's hard to guess as the important games are coming thick and fast. One thing is for sure, Rafa will make changes. What they will be I don't know, but here's the team I'd pick: Dudek Finnan-Carra-Hyypiä-Traoré Gerrard-Sissoko-Alonso-Kewell Crouch-Cissé Riise is out both because he cost us a goal against Chelsea, but most of all because he struggled against Wigan. We will be up against Henry and van Per…

...why Bob Paisley might have struggled managing a team in the modern era? Richard Key's has just made that claim on Sky. Football is still football. It is fundamentally the same game that Bob Paisley knew and dominated. Paisley was a genius. Light years ahead of anyone else. He had the ability to spot a player and get the best out of him. I can't see how he would have struggled. The King, Souness, Hansen & Rush were as good (if not better - in my opinion) as today's stars and yet he seemed to manage them extremely competently. Mind you, according to Sky football never existed pre-1992. ;)

Argentine's Anfield move delayed By Mark Kendall - Created on 12 Feb 2006 Gabriel Paletta Argentine starlet Gabriel Paletta will not seal his move to Liverpool until the end of the season. The 20-year-old central defender was expected to travel to England this weekend to thrash out the terms of his proposed switch to Anfield. However, negotiations between The Reds and the youngster's Argentine club Banfield appear to have stalled for the moment, and the transfer will not now be completed until the end of the campaign at the earliest. "Negotiations have reached an impasse until the end of the season because Gabriel wanted to play the Clausura champio…

A MAJOR breakthrough in Liverpool FC's plans for a new stadium is revealed today. Government officials have privately agreed to pump around £10m into the regeneration of the area around the club's planned £150m ground at Stanley Park, the ECHO has learned. It means the Reds' stadium project is still on track after months of uncertainty. A spokeswoman for the Northwest Development Agency, which holds the purse strings, today said no formal decision had been made. The news of the cash boost comes a day after the ECHO revealed that property giant Peel Holdings has offered to build Everton FC a new stadium at Switch Island. Last summer, Liverpool was told by …

I need some help with these questions regarding suspensions following yellow and red cards. We have on our hands a situation that actually can occur: Momo Sissoko's one yellow away from his 10th, leading to a two match ban. What if he gets two yellows, equalling a red, tonight? Does he get the two game ban for all the yellows, or the one game for the red? If a player is sent off for two yellows, they're not counted as yellows at all, right? Just one red, with the light punishment of one game (as opposed to straight red = three games). If Sissoko gets a yellow, taking his tally to ten, and then gets a straight red, what happens then? Thanks in advance.

Arsenal are still better "Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has done a very good job, he has experience and he likes to play good football, so you must have a lot of respect for this kind of manager and his team."

I prefer 4-4-2 but there was some speculation the new siginings were bought with this in mind. At the moment with weaknesses down the flanks and a need to fit all of our quality midfielders in the team but still have Gerrard involved down the business end of the pitch... Reina Carra Hyypia Agger Finan Riise (wing backs) Xabi Momo Kewell Gerrard Crouch with Gerrard in a free role - gotta be worth a punt that has kids.

33 appearances for Banfield. 5 goals. Nice. At that rate Carra would have scored 60 goals in his 400 appearances.

There for the taking. No Vieira, Bergkamp, Cole, Campbell, Reyes. I really admired their team of about 3 years ago that went unbeaten for a season and the marvellous football played, but they're no longer at that level. Some of Wenger's latest signings - Hleb, Diaby etc don't really look the part, and they're hugely vulnerable at the back. Also, Lehmann's dive on Saturday was pathetic, as was Wenger's refusal to see anything wrong in Flamini's challenge. Two goals for Robert Bernard Fowler will do nicely.

The Times “We know what Chelsea have done and why,” a Barcelona source said. “It’s because they know we like to play the ball on the floor and they are just an aerial side.”

If you listened to 606 tonight, Adrian Chiles was talking about WBA losing 1-6 at Fulham, describing it as a tennis score. Well, how about this sequence by Doncaster Rovers in 1982: 10th Sep H Exeter 6-1 25th Sep H Reading 7-5 28th Sep H Wigan 3-6

Quotes from the offal Nice article from Stewart Hall - usually regarded by all as a putz.... On a side note - my old editor said Hall had a penchant for making money from all the guests on his slot, i.e interviewing a woman who made one-off silk ties, he bought them all and now they're worth 5k each, he also bought the private collection of Lowry artworks of another guest - hats off!
