41 resignations. I mean, seems legit to stay on.

How is he going to fill those posts? The only loyalists he's got left are Nadine Dorries, Rosie Holt and Sir Michael Take - and at least two of them are satirical comedy characters.

Seems incredible he’s still fighting to stay on with such a high number of resignations.

is there a magic number where it becomes untenable for him to stay ?

Yeah, 2 cabinet members.

Seriously, the precious record was 11 in the 1930s. He can’t carry on like this because he can’t fucking form a proper government. They 22 will get rid next week.

Johnson doing a fair rendition of Hitler in his bunker mobilising troops that no longer existed.  He is out and about tomorrow dangling tax cuts with Kwarteng . I doubt anyone will ask why the new Chancellor was amongst those who told him to fuck off the day before.  Utterly mental state of affairs .

I don't see how that is possible. He's not the president. He doesn't have any mandate of the people beyond his own constituency.

I think, but I'm not 100% sure it was part of some new legislation they brought in to give the PM more powers.

Maybe, it's nothing I've ever heard of. That would be a constitutional change surely?

There is no written constitution, that’s the issue.

Lots of rules, laws and regulations all of which are open to interpretation.

We’re in a real grey area here and it’s going to be interesting to see what arguments and actions come of it.
