Spoke to the lad, says it's true. Fuckin terrible, why does a game of footy lead to that?

Very true its sad nowadays that a bit of banter years ago would be laughed at and then that would be it now bit of banter or whatever it was, has possibly ended up like this.

Going to wait for further details first still don't know the circumstances.

I've even had someone text me saying Aggers Cousin was stabbed.

It's pretty much all bollocks. Apparently, there was a fight and some people received minor injuries and one with a broken jaw but nobody is dead.

I know people in the local media who have spoken to the police and this is the correct answer.

There are a lot of dickheads following both teams. We had 9000 at OT last week and about 75% of them were constantly singing about Munich and itching for a scrap.

Football fans + ale + purposely inciting opposition fans by referring to emotive situations = violence.

Hope it's not true & nothing justifies knives.

For the last few years though the young Bitters with their 'Murderers' line has just pissed me off.

Coming out of the game today I was going down Anfield road, against the flow of the bitters (I was heading Arkles direction, them to the King Harry direction) and got seperated from friends, and sent towards the ground side & our lovely cousins coming out and heading out.

"Move you fucking Murderer" "Kenny Dalglish is a Homosexual", pushing/squashing Hillsbrough gestures....they are just horrible, the younger bitter filled ones I detest. And the banner they were proud to hold up as we made our way out of the ground (Paddock) said it all 'Bitter & Twisted, and Proud of it'.

I truly detest the vermin, almost to Manc standards.

On a serious note, I do hope no-one's been hurt in these scuffles. If it is the case that the trouble was only minor, then on a lighter note, if an Everton fan has been injured, he can perhaps be the first to try out their compensation claims service.

Thats the whole problem. I mean I am not old (in 20's) at all but I have been brought up to respect and be (the liverpool way almost) by the fam and also the tradition of LFC (learnt our history inside out). Who teaches people similarly around my age to act like dickheads to be quite frank! Its damn annoying also when your labelled the same as those dickheads as well. I would say there in the minority but still, its not right, there is banter then there is being plain sick. Am talking about all fans here not just a certain football fan of a certain football team.

It's defo the younger generations that have become "hate filled" i have alot of mates who are blues (poor bastards i know) on derby days we have agood few pints and a lot of banter we score the reds take the piss they score they take the piss and at the end of the game we argue it was/wasn't a pen,offside,red/yellow card ect. then its back on the piss for the rest of the night, while younger generations stand outside the pub trying to kick each others heads in or "brain" each other with bottles, its not all of the younger fans dont get me wrong but the friendly derby is well and truely finished now probably for good it's sad really.

Police have confirmed no stabbings today at the match. Vicious rumours like this just cause shit. Atmosphere in town tonight will be horrible with this being spun around. That's when you do actually end up with someone being seriously hurt, when others seek out retribution for something that hasnt even happened.
