During my GCSE's I hammered COD 2 every night partcipating in 6 hour clan matches. Needless to say I never got laid during that period.

 

When I was a lad I also played through hours of FF7 and FF8. Metal Gear Solid however is my all time favourite.

Way of the Exploding Fist rocked. Remember when it came out, trying to play 2 player sharing the keyboard on a rubbery spectrum.

 

That reminds me, another few old games I used to obsess over.. Id, on the spectrum and Mazogs on the ZX81. Mazogs was superace.

Same here with COD2 clan matches. GOW was the worst for them though, especially on rooftops, one of our matches lasted 4 hours on that 1 map.

All the Champs and now Footie Manager although not as much as earlier in my life when it was known for me to spend days on it and wake up in the night and writing down tactics and players I want.

and a few of the Grand Prix (Crammond) on the Amiga.

 

 

But of them all Kick Off on the Amiga was my favourite, never beaten and even came back from a 0-5 half time drubbing to win 6-5. Strange but I've never really warmed to any of the Fifa type games.

Arkanoid on the C64 kept me entertained for years. I found the emulator online a few weeks back. It's the classic addictive game.

Oooh, forgot Sega Rally on the Saturn. Everytime my brother beat one of my best lap times, I would waste days repeating the same track until, not only had I beat him, but I had beaten him several times so he wouldn't show on the Top Score list. I took it as a personal affront, you see.

Nights on the Saturn took up a lot of my time too. Pity the Wii version had controls like treacle.

Any Zelda game (barring Majora - hated it) since Link to the Past has kept me up for hours on end - absolutely hooked.

 

More recently I probably spent almost a year on Halo 3 on live - so much fun with my mates.

 

Batman Arkham Asylum had me up pretty late - could not put it down, got to 91% and have traded in. I'll be back to it and beat it on Hard - it was that good.
