Except that Dirk Kuyt scored more goals than either of them.

He was more of a supporting act, Gerrard and Torres where the main men in getting us thorugh the group first of all then each round after. Btw Kuyt hasn't scored for over a year at Anfield in the league, should we commend him for that as well?

With the personal loss he had last season, his performances have been very good.

Expect him to improve this season personally. You can continue to slag him off though, although in another 5 minutes, it will become boring....

I seriously don't know how some people can spout so much crap on here day in and day out. How many times can you call a player shit and so on?

i think it's probably a subtle combination of a lack of imagination and homo-eroticism.

I think Keane could go on til he's 32 or 33 at this level. He's not particularly reliant on pace and has quite a good footballing brain.

He could use that to be more of a creator when his pace goes. If it's £20m then that would still be too high but if it's £15m with £5m based on achievements then we've got a decent deal

This is a very exciting signing in my opinion. We're getting a proven and prolific goal-scorer with pace, skill, ingenuity and graft. Furthermore he's just coming into the prime of his career and loves the club. If he settles as quickly as Torres, I reckon we could be calling £20m a steal this time next year. A potentially great signing.

He is a very good footballer and will make the difference in a lot of games and that is exactly what we need.

I agree he could be a truly great signing. I cannot understand how some think close to twenty million is too much. Proven goalscorer and club captain, that is what it costs.

So many options with him in the side and I am well excited by it.
