Other teams don't push their defenders really really high up the pitch like we push our defenders really really high up the pitch.

If other teams did push their defenders really really high up the pitch then we could just lump it to Salah because they would have pushed their defenders really really high up the pitch.

But we don't have to lump it really, really far, just a normal lump.

That's an insanely attacking line up. Very surprised Dom starts over Curtis, genuinely thought the midfield would be Macca, Jones and Gapko.

We aren't playing 4-3-3 though are we.

Wouldn't it be Szobo anyway instead of Gakpo if it was a 3?

Chelsea playing 3 at the back. They haven’t done that in pre-season from what I hear. James and Chilwell will give them width,  that we don’t have,  but at least they don’t have pure wingers to attack our right back area.

I imagine it'll be a back 5 for long spells with them looking to go long and over the top. He had Spurs set up like that against us with Kane and Son.

Edit: With that in mind, I hope we sit a bit deeper and look to hit them. If we play that high line, we're fucked.

Yeah I meant Jones and Mac as a double pivot, akin to a 4231 but moving to a box midfield in possession (Jones becoming more progressive and Trent moving into the faux 6 role).

It would be Gakpo over Dom for me only out of my own bias, because the former showed last year how good he is putting pressure on the ball and closing passing lanes, we haven't seen anything of Dom yet, but he may be great at that too.
