Plucky Liverpool snatch a 0-2 draw at the home of the future champions. Lucky to leave with anything. It was just a pleasure to watch the Arsenal I’m free flow. Thanks for letting us come to your home. The home of football.

Good of them to let us beat them.

Just watched Merson' post match comments.  Poor bloke. The booze really did mess him up.

In fairness to merson, they put up a list of the remaining fixtures for both teams, and you couldn't disagree entirely with him on who has the toughest run in.

Plus we had the liverpool love in with souness and carra, so you needed someone to disagree

Just like Inter, that was the best Arsenal could offer, and we handled it with ease. That back 4, with Fabinho in front and Ali behind is the best in the world.

The front 3 that started produced the worst performance of any front 3 we've had in years.

Mane was awful. As was Jota, while Diaz was anonymous.

And we won it comfortably, against the most in-form team,  bar us.

In their back yard.

When the pressure was on us to close the gap.

This was a proper big boys performance.

As for the Arsenal love in. Context, people. They get a full week's rest before each game, with no injuries, no European travel, and no pressure to achieve.

Let's see what happens to them next season when they're in Europe, and there's a bit nore expectation on them.

Fuck sake I agree with every point

Souness looked smug as fuck and never took merson on . Sometimes silence and a knowing look is all that's needed. Said it in other threads he made an almighty balls up of his legacy as a person relating to LFC but as a player he was without peer for 4 to 5 seasons and still obvious he lives the club .

So, Arsenal’s best performances this season were at Anfield in the League Cup and then home to City & us in the league.

1 goal, 2 defeats and a draw, which also led to a defeat.

I don’t get the hype about them. They pressed well last night and made it difficult for us but apart from the Thiago back pass, they didn’t threaten. Robbo cleared a Martinelli cross in the first half & Martinelli’s run in the second half….. and well, that was it.

I felt as long as it stayed 0-0, we were always going to catch them out.

Even at half time they had barely laid a glove on us.

They aren't in the same league as us or City or even Chelsea squad wise but they are the best of the rest IMO.

They lack a punch but seem to have got rid of the wage-stealers in the squad,  and have talented young energetic players. They are a goalscorer and a bit of depth away but in a much better state than 2 years ago and on a good path.

Klopp was right about Trent. Accepted wisdom is that Martinelli is brilliant and Trent can't defend; but we've played these fuckers four times this season and kept four clean sheets. Someone's doing something right.

Trent was roasted by him last night, but the brilliance of our defensive unit kept the drama to a minimum. Tyler barely reached a semi, just like Arsenal in fact.
