Seems a very strange move. If he had any sense he'd have fucked his agent off, apologised to the club and got his head down and improved as a player. The only thing I can think of here is outside pressure from family members or close 'friends' with big ideas of riding the gravy train.

Nail on head Id say. In fact, Ive already seen a report saying there is 'family member' pressure for him to kick on.

I do not think it's a co incidence that Stevie isnt wading in to all this. All the stuff about Stevie just comes from his (duncan's) side. Im not sure which side of Gerrard's family duncan is from since a cousin could come from Stevie's mother or father's side (yeah, I know, obviously). Maybe it's his dad's side, after all,he did have a world with a Mr Fixit when Stevie was having some 'trouble' so maybe, there's undesirable on that side?

I  honestly do not think this lad will be any loss. Brewster is head and shoulders above him and Glatzel looksa better bet. He seems another ravel morrison in the making.

His agent has had him over completely

Move over to Italy they're offering you a chance and you'll and say you'll get in the first team. Look at the kids in Germany, knowing full well he'd be in the youth teams and shipped back to the Championship or a top clubs u23 a year later and he will nab a percentage of both transfer fees

The lad has probably done us a massive favour in being a real life negative role model for the academy lot in the same way Coutinho is for the senior players at their peak.

Someone like Curtis Jones may be stretching it already with the level he’s now at, but you can see talented young players itching to get first team minutes and Klopp keeps urging patience and to respect the process.

What better proof of that maxim, and that the grass isn’t always greener, than this lad kicking his heels in an Italian youth team while yesterday happened.

On the patience note, Klopp said yesterday Jones would be a Liverpool player 100%, “unless something strange happened”. No doubt injuries would be one of the potential things he meant, could another be losing patience, and a little nod to Duncan?

No sleight at Curtis Jones there, know nothing about him or his attitude. But he was very open in his BBC interview about being desperate to play and didn't quite sing from the usual hymn sheet.

It just made me think what a job it must be in itself to convince super talented young players ready for first team football somewhere to keep plugging away and waiting for their chance when they’re champing at the bit.

I'm hoping that the club uses Gerrard to help blood some of these kids. A year in Scotland would help alot of these kids even if it would kill Bjornebye

A year at Rangers would do them no good whatsoever, as footballers or individuals.

Tend to agree with that. They’d get a lot more with regular football in the Championship, which is easily of a higher standard.

How many tines do we see kids go to the Championship under a British manager and as they struggle initially just get left on the bench. The Championship is often a disappearing ground for talent. The chance to play European football and under the pressure of playing for either old firm club more than makes up for the league standard.

The game Vs Arsenal in the league Cup too.

And the quarter final Vs Villa, although we lost it was still a big game that he could have played in.

Daft bastard.
