However if we'd have taken one of the glaring chances you wouldn't be saying that.

Klopp fucked up with Gomez at right back and  Gini advanced.  We play the way we play no point sitting back letting them cut through us on the edge of our area.

I said it after Chelsea and a few other big games. Gung ho works against the rubbish teams but you need to put a lot more thought in to the massive games. For instance , other than Milner I can't remember us ever having a tactical injury requiring the trainer late on in a match we were winning.

It's obviously exhilarating to watch but we need Jurgen to ensure we are not so naive next season.

1-0 would have been a decent result to settle for at 70 minutes , but we were desperately trying to go forward en-masse and one stray pass was stranding our full backs & Fabinho too far forward.

It was even more noticeable in the Chelsea game where we were 2-0 up and kept playing like the Harlem Globetrotters.

This was the case last year definately. I think this year we’ve been far more balanced, and with the exception of the very final stages of the game, mainly after their third, I thought that was the case tonight as well.

They had about two chances for the first 80 minutes. How many teams manage that at Camp Nou?

It's not worth it mate, shrug it off and move on.

We are all incredibly emotionally invested but when it hurts (like tonight and all the other cup finals losses, etc) you've just got to think that Klopp (no matter how much we love him) and his players will be driving home in their supercars to their huge houses secure in the knowledge that they and even their grandchildren will be set for life but win, lose or draw it doesn't pay our bills, keep our families in good health or etc. It's just a game.

Edit: Maybe not driving home from Spain but possibly a private jet.

Bit xenophobic for my liking.

Not really, Spanish football is the worst for diving and snide. I went to Espanyol Barcelona a couple of years ago and the crowd cheered louder asking for a foul than they did a goal.

Well, I'd pretty much given up any hope of us winning the league but tonight's result has reinvigorated that hope because, frankly there is more chance of City dropping points than us getting to the final of the European cup this year.

There's no shame in losing to Barcelona. They're really good, despite what some thought. However, it's hard to shake the feeling this is just what we do. Crunch game, fuck it up. Overachieve to get to a certain stage, then prove that we were overachieving to get to said stage.

Unlike you to base an opinion on one game.

Spanish sides, including the national team win though, so it's entirely justified.

The player I was most disappointed with tonight was Mo.

Apart from the shot that he had saved he was pretty ineffective and very lacklustre.

Was dreadful first half. Improved slightly in the 2nd half, but wasn't that much better overall.

Compare him to Mane, who ran himself into the ground for the team and never stopped trying until the final whistle. He must be a fucking nightmare to play against.

We're at the highest level we can possibly be. Probably 97 points in the league, two European finals and a semi. We're a cunt hair from being good enough, but we aren't.

I thought salah played well. He tore them apart everytime he had a run at them. Finishing was shite but next Tuesdays another day

I don't disagree.

I just think if we needed 83 points to win the league we'd get 82.
