Virgil Van Dijk

But he is still chasing a centre-back and a left-back and Murphy is hopeful the club can resurrect a deal for Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk.

“My understanding is that they are trying desperately hard to improve the squad and they are willing to put quite a few pounds behind that,” he told Sky Sports News HQ.

“I hope they get Van Dijk. I hope that happens because I think defensively is where they need to get better. They need a left-back of course.

“But you know, he is not a stupid man Klopp. He has seen now everything that he has got and what he needs.

“You can’t rush these things. You know as well as I know there are domino effects with transfers. It will start.

“Unfortunately because of the way the window is set up, which is nonsensical as far as I am concerned, you know things now will happen mid to late August. So there is plenty of time. I wouldn’t be worrying if I was a Liverpool fan.”

Danny Murphy's punditry is fucking garbage . I find it hard to take him seriously when claiming he has the inside track on VVD,  Smacks of an attention seeking knob

Judging by the quotes I've posted above, I find it hard to believe he knoiws anything at all about Liverpool's transfer business, let alone specifics about a deal being done. "I hope they sign VVD". And I hope I win the lottery.

Liverpool have got to get their mane target if we're to rein in the teams above us.  This is no time to stall.  The increased Premier League revenues mean we won't be saddled with debt.

We've got to lay down a marker and get our rivals to stirrup and take notice.

I bet his BARK is worse than his bite. With his heading prowess he'll surely give us the LEAD in games. Our former player Kenny DOG LEASH is apparently a big fan. We looked tired last time out, so he'll be a real asset in the TAIL end of the season.

If we don't sign Van Djik Anfield will be like a Desert - Orchid certainly won't go he will be livid.

It will be Fury. Our DoF is doing a worse job than Mr. Ed Woodward for the Mancs. Even worse than his Secretariat. If this fails we'll be stuck with that Jolly Jumper Lovren. I guess hindsight is always Thirty/Thirty.
