He was maybe the biggest culprit for the start to the game, arsenal gave him the run around. He was one of the players who's game visibly stepped up when he got angry. Fucking start that way and we'll win more games.

I wasn't really talking about yesterday, I like Henderson (although I think his time is probably up) but he's not a forward thinking player in general.

He's an absolutely rotten player; he adds little, he subtracts much. Always missing, always hiding, leading from the back.

 

I can't ever remember him clearing a shot off the line or stopping a goal with a last ditch tackle, and after hundreds of games his highlight reel must be all of 30 seconds tops... including replays and trophy lifts.

 

He wouldn't stand out in Sunderland's team and we must jettison him as soon as humanly possible.

 

Never can I ever recall someone riding on the coattails of greatness, achieving so much with so miniscule talent.

I'm nearly sure I told this on here. I was at a football challenge/training game run by Alan Kennedy and a few other old pros. After the game we watched the Merseyside Derby with a few pints and Kennedy just lambasted Hendo throughout the whole game saying the exact same things you've said here about tackling, hiding etc. I didn't really agree with him as I thought Hendo provided much needed athleticism in the team, but looking back he was correct.
