Benteke scores goals.  If we got him back and dropped Firmino do you think the team would benefit from that ? 

It would be a bonus if Firmino scored more, but as long as goals are being scored and he's involved in them Klopp will be happy.  He gives defenders a torrid time as he's always hounding them, or pulling them out of position and creating space.  Take him out of yesterday's side and we may not have scored at all, he was involved in all 3 of those goals.

I thought he played very well yesterday, he did a lot of running and tried to make things happen. Lets not pretend this happens in every game though - he often looks feckless and uninterested. He needs to play like he did yesterday more often.

I’d like to see Firmino behind a top striker before we bought one to replace him and if it didn’t work I’d keep him there as long as we are scoring goals. It would be nice to see him play No.10 for Brazil behind Jesus for a prolonged period and see if his way of pressing works coming from deeper.

If and when Coutinho goes we might have the replacement here already in Firmino. If we pushed the boat out for a top striker, like Werner, we could use the Coutinho money to help do it. Alternately, we might just sign someone else, like Lemar, and keep Firmino where he is. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

 

When the team is scoring as we have been the past few games, Firmino’s level of goal scoring isn’t an issue, but obviously, when you go through a few games where you need a goal to nick it, that’s when you start longing for one of the more prolific strikers we’ve enjoyed over the years.

 

Firmino is a good player and well worth his place in the side. We all know the score on his output as a goalscorer, but it’s been done to death, and equally we know what he brings to the team. Good player. Hard worker. I’d like to see a few more goals from him too, but it’s not a problem.

Nah, he plays like that more often than not. Just needs to be able to put a few more chances, and particularly half chances, away.

 

 

I'm not too bothered that he doesn't score that many - he's never going to score 30 goals a season - but he does need to focus and commit himself to the game more often.  I'm not having a go at him for yesterday, as I thought it was one of those games where he did well.

AM role should be rotate between Lallana and Firmino. CMs should be two of Hendo, Keita and Wijnaldum. Wide players should be two of Mane, Salah, and Ox. It’’s clear that Klopp doesn’t rate Sturrridge, so we absolutely need to get someone in to lead the line.

I think he means pushing back Firmino into Coutinho's mf role, and him and Lallana competing for that role when Coutinho eventually leaves.

Whichever way you spin it with Bobby F at false nine we score more goals as a team. He is the perfect link player for Salah and Mane. Bobby wins the ball, the opposition are left out of shape and outnumbered with two sprinters coming at them. A couple of quick passes and we're in. That's football.

You never specified a prolific goal scorer.  You said a goal scoring centre forward. 

Suarez or Torres stats in attack is what Salah is giving us at the moment.

Unless that goal scoring centre forward put in the work that Firmino does in creating and pressing then it would be detrimental to the team.  That's why if Firmino is fit, he plays.

Klopp knows exactly what Firmino gives the team, even if others only see a lack of goals.
