Ravel Morrison although obviously a talented footballer, is destined for the Championship permanently. Ferguson got rid, Allerdyce got rid and Harry will probably get rid as well at some point. Thats a man that coached Cantona, a man that coaches Andy Carroll (amidst rumours of drug fuelled orgy's) and a man that coached Paulo Di Canio, all unable to curb this guy's behaviour.

Why would a team like West Ham get rid of a precocious talent like him, unless something was wrong? it doesn't make any sense to ship out your most talented young player for nothing to QPR when your only 7 points from the bottom, with about 10 games left.

It's pictures like this, that don't help his cause.

Totally on board with the Lallana shout. Shaw would be great too but it doesn't look likely. Shame.

There are a few other good English players floating around who might be worth a look. Clyne, Richards, Mutch, Delph and Ings all spring to mind. I'm not saying they should be at the top of our shopping list but they are at least options to consider.

Micah Richards is an interesting one, I've always liked him but didn't mention him because I'm wary about player's who have had knee injuries  They almost always lose something, and the fact he's not been able to get back in suggests Richards isn't the same player he was before.

Can't stand Morrison, but I'm not sure it's fair to use the West Ham thing against him as if his version of events is true (and they seem quite plausible to me) then he's not done a great deal wrong there.  Still, I know Brendan is ace with hi reclamation projects, but I this would be too much even for him I think.

For Rodwell see Richards.  How much have injuries taken out of him?  Has he even kicked a ball this season?

I would have included Remy but isn't there a rape case hanging over his head or something?

1)Shaw would be my number 1 priority this summer, if a deal is not already done with Chelsea we need to start whispering sweet nothings. I would speculate that anyone who comes through Southampton's academy would appreciate Brendan Rodgers and the work he does developing young players. The last left back that left Southampton for Chelsea had his bird infected with aids  and his career shot to bits (where is the cunt, did I miss his funeral?).

2)Barkley would next on my list. In my opinion every blue deep down in their soul wishes they where red.

3) Rodgers could work wonders with Rodwell. Cheap option with great potential.

4) Ashley Cole is a suggestion I'd agree with. I'm no fan of Enrique, quite happy to have him as back but not first choice. Flanno looks ace but its early days, a signing like Shaw could finish him while a temporary signing like Cole could help him develop, with a CL run we will have plenty of games for both.

5) With out doubt we will need another body in the middle. Gareth Barry would be a bit left field but worth considering. Like Cole there will be enough games for everyone and neither are the future but equally neither will let you down if played 20 or so times a season.

Shaw and Barkley are decent shouts.

Rodwell is gash.

Ashley fucking Cole?  Seriously?  As a left-back, I'd take about 10 others above him.  As a human being, there are about six-and-a-half billion who have more of the kind of attitude Rodgers wants.

The Gaz Baz ship sailed 5 years ago.  He is nowhere near mobile enough for us.

Lallana is wonderfull.......would be incredible linking/feeding our front 2...Would be my No 1 Target in summer

Remy is a gooden, would be great back up striker and more importantly,he could cut in on his right from left hand side.Front 3 of  Remy-Suarez-DannyBoy?

massive fan of Routledge but hes almost 30 now and I think Redmond could be a belter of a player in couple of years.

deffo need a ball winning CM can also play though

The rape case against Remy was dropped a few weeks ago. I think he got back into scoring form soon after.

I thought Chambers played much better than Shaw against us and think he'd be a cheaper option too. Only 19 as well.

Caulker - decent pace, good in the air and on the ball.

Shaw - go big for this player. Will pay dividends for a decade or more.

Rodwell - he was excellent at Everton, but lost his way with a big move too soon.

Coleman - good player. Bitters might want too much.

Striker - there's no striker I want, apart from Borini. We already have the best two strikers, so we need a decent back up. Borini is our man.

Deffo all in on the Lallana, Shaw and Delph shouts, Dave; they look exactly like Rodgers players. Barkley looks Gerrard-esque and so I'd pay £30m plus for him right now (although it simply could not happen, I know). My fifth choice is Richards (assuming he's not physically ruined): he's fast, strong, aggressive and versatile and I think he'd fall in line at Liverpool. Borini is surely a wasted pick as he's already ours.

Top of my list would be Oxlade Chamberlain - I think he would fit into our way of playing perfectly and he brings a few more goals. Doubt the Gooners would let him go but you never know. They seem to be a club where everyone has a price. Worth breaking the bank for in my book.

Cole - I too have been thinking this would be a good move if we could get him on a free. He still has tremendous pace and has bucket loads of experience at every level. Would be perfect cover in a position where we are struggling. We don't know if Enrique is coming back or, if he does, if he will be as good as he has been in the past. So defo a good stopgap for a couple of seasons. Don't care about his personality/personal life etc.

Delph for me too. I have liked the look of him for a while. My only issue is his lack of goals. Without them I don't see him as someone who improves the first eleven but rather just adds to the squad.

Berahino at West Brom. Only 20 but has played for England at every level up to u21. Very quick and great skill. Scores goals too in a very poor side. Perfect Rodgers fodder. He could possibly turn him into something really really special so defo worth a punt. May be available cheap if West Brom go down.

Barkley. Just to piss off the Bluenoses. But it would be good to see if Rodgers could improve him.

I like Lailana but don't see him adding much more than Delph - but the difference in price would be significant I suspect. Shaw I rate but would like to see where he is in 12 months time. He is 18 and will only be moving for big money so I would want to know that he is going to live up to his promise before commiting a big part of our transfer budget.

If Chelsea let Cole go, it will be because he is no longer good enough for a team that wants to win the title.  Also, you can't just "not care" about his personality - anyone who comes to Liverpool must work their plums off and not expect megastar wages unless they've earned it: that is the kind of club we have become in the last couple of years.  Character is everything.  Cole could never fit in with that.  It's not even as if his sublime talent overrides all other concerns.  There are plenty of better left-backs in the Premier League (including two at Anfield!) who are younger and have better attitudes.

Shit. I forgot Lukaku. He's fucking boss. I'd have him, probably over Delph.

I can if it suits my argument :)

Do you have any real evidence that his character and attitude are so wide of what is required to be a player at LFC? As for talent, sure, he isn't first choice at Chelsea but is that because his replacement is a better player or because he has characteristics that are better suited to Chelsea's style of play? Maybe both. But only Mourinho can really answer that question. If we are so well-blessed with left backs why are we playing a young and inexperienced right back there? Cissokho is going back to Spain and Enrique is nowhere near to a solution to his problem let alone first team football according to last night's Echo.So I'm not sure who you think we have who is better. I think he would be a good stopgap for a season or two and hopefully we can get a longer term replacement and/or bring one of the kids through in that time.

Thought Caulker looked poor yesterday. It can't help that he's playing in a shit team beside shit players, but I think we'd be better off giving Ilori and Wisdom games than signing someone like him.

I can see Mutch going somewhere like Southampton and doing really well.
