the more i think about this the only thing that makes any sense of it is that Johnson has it in his current contract that he must play if hes fit. So we've had to offer him a new contract just to stop him playing every game for the rest of this season. 

 

why else would you pick a blatantly shit player, week after week, who not even going to be in the side next season due to the contract problems. it makes no sense?

 

why else would you even offer him a new contract when you've 2 right backs at the club and another out on loan?

 

Can anyone point to a league game when Johnson was benched but was fit?

He is more of a wing back type of player and his poor defending has always had me thinking that playing him as a wide midfielder might have been a better option.
