We could do with getting at least a draw, but at the same time with the Chelsea game on Sunday, I hope we rest Suarez for this one.

Gerrard and Suarez should be nowhere near this one. Allen looks like he needs a rest too. After beating these the last time we can afford to play a weakened team.

Looks like they might both have travelled, though I know the younger players/reserves often train with the first team.

 

We shouldn't take a strong squad though. The travelling alone will take a lot out of the players and it's not a game we absolutely have to win. 4 or 5 points from the remaining games will probably see us through.

It became a bit like anyone but Joe Fraud for a finish but that's a wafer thin squad gone out there. 3 points separating us from bottom placed Young Boys so it would have been nice to have sent a strong squad out but there you go. Not expecting anything from the next 2 fixtures so will just try enjoy watching the young lads give it a bash tomorrow night.

I like the idea of a back 5, it looked pretty robust against Everton after we had looked so open earlier in the game. I'd play one against Chelsea, too. Having Coates on the pitch also virtually doubles our goal threat.

Why play him over Pacheco? or even Suso playing in his more natural central position would have made more sense.

Could well be a small crowd as I can't see a lot of our fans travelling ( unless they want to do the tourist thing in Moscow ) and I read that the Muscovites can't buy tickets unless they can prove they are Anzhi fans with their passports, to avoid the Russian hoolies causing trouble like they did in the Alkmaar game.

There will still be a good few over there, but for the side we're playing, visa's, travel, time of year, cost etc loads swerved it without even looking into it I know I did!
