Out of his depth though? thats abit strong, its his first season at a big club. He shouldnt start as many games as he does thats for sure.

 

I think he would be a good sub in games where we struggle to create or need a goal. At 26 he is worth keeping for abit longer (like you say end of next season..if he doesnt improve get rid)

On topic. Henderson looks like he has it in him to be a technically gifted midfielder, never a fighter in a million years though. If, in a couple of seasons, him and Lucas (or another) are our central midfield I wouldn't be surprised, but he's not there yet.

 

As for Adam, a couple of wonder passes and a couple of stupid fouls per game, is it good enough if we want to get back to where we belong?

He never hides though or goes for the easy pass like some of our new signings do (Henderson included). If all of our players had the mentality of always trying to make something happen on the ball like Adam instead of playing the safe option then I guess we'd be a fair bit higher in the table.

I'm just saying that one player not getting played at a club doesn't always make him not good enough for that level. It could be that he's not suited to the managers style of play or formation.

 

For the record I think Adam needs to be sold or given a massively reduced role if we're to make the top 4, but we can't fault the effort or commitment he has given this club in the 6 months he's been here. And his attitude is spot on, he never shirks or hides from a challenge like Henderson, Downing or Carroll do on a regular basis. It might sometimes be frustrating when one of his long passes or shots don't come off but its better than passing it sideways or backwards most of the time like certain members of our squad do on a regular basis.
