Nobody criticises him when he has proper guests on the show. It’s when he’s laundering propaganda for some of the most poisonous people in the media landscape, the far right and racists, and uncritically disseminating toxic ideas to his 300m plus audience - is when people have a problem with him.

 

He has a responsibility to his audience which he often fails in. He largely just agrees with whoever is sitting opposite him, which you can say is conducive to good conversation; and that’s fine, as a principle, when Cornel West is in front of you. When it’s someone like Gavin Mcinnes or Ben Shapiro it becomes far more problematic.

I don’t think it’s fair to judge Rogan quite as harshly as you would a political commentator or a politician. He’s an MMA guy and a comedian. Actually, I quite like that he is open to ideas without immediately slamming everything I don’t agree with. He conducts a decent interview.

I dont believe in UFOs aliens visiting earth and shit but I listened to a podcast about the US nimitz encounter and it makes you think. How cool would it be if there's always been an intelligent life on this planet we've never known about because it lives just beyond our perception. I think its more likely that its just an intelligence exercise by the US for some sort of underhand bullshit tactic though.
