I thought Gomorrah was dreadful and boring, after a promising start it descended quickly into a tale of scooter riding purse snatchers wit the Godfather himself being the sort of malodourous wobbly doley git you wouldn't think twice about giving a slap to on a Saturday night.

Massively overrated imho.

My uncle was telling me some mad stories about his time in Naples when he was based there with the navy. He reckons the local fruit and veg man stole a tree from the family quarters' grounds which was worth a fortune so the camora took my uncle in the car looking for him, when they found him my uncle had to stop him shooting him in the face.

The next day he woke up and the bloke's veg van was outside on fire and the fire brigade and police were stood keeping anyone from trying to put it out.

Rather than start a new thread i thought id see here

Im just starting to play a new miniature wargame set in 1920s Chicago (yes im a sad fucker that plays with dice and miniatures). Anyway im looking for some old gangster movies for inspiration for scenery, characters, scenarios etc.

The game rules can easily be changed be anything from the 1920s to the 70/80s.

So im lokking for any Gangster,Yakuza, Triad and Russian movies from this period.

Ive seen a few but the ones of the top of my head ive seen are

Goodfellas

Godfather

Carlito's Way

Scarface

A Bronx tale

A few Takeshi Kitano and Chow Yun Fat (though list any and ill give them a go again)

The Untouchables(Costner/Connery)

American Gangstee
