Sad news for Kuyt

RIP Dirk senior, I've been saying it for a few months but I'm convinced Dirk will have a storming second season with us, especially if he's allowed to play as a proper centre forward.

That's the key.

How proud Dirk was to have his Dad see him play at Anfield. Knowing he was so ill, I'm sure that was an exceptionally emotionally charged time, and to cap it with a goal was extra special. It couldn't be better.

I can only hope that the new season will bring new happiness and solitude to Dirk, knowing that his father is in pain no longer. I'm convinced it was on his mind last season as well as the usual struggle to adapt in the first season of a new league. Nonetheless, he was still the top league scorer for us.

Onwards and upwards, Dirk, with your father to guide you, ad all of us to support you.

R.I.P. Gerrit Kuyt.
