Good win against an in form tricky opponent. Needed that after the last two piss poor outings .

Nunez vg first half, Salah and Jota looked sharp whilst at the back Virg and Ali ensured a clean sheet ..

I liked endos positional sense. However, as I've said, his 2nd touch, more than his 1st, is quite poor. He tends to knock it away from himself, and that's what lead to his potential red card, and that spate of corners in the 2nd half.

Great win, and what a difference having the real Virgil back these days. He's fucking immense.

Endo was mediocre and if Mac Allister had done that "second touch is a tackle" routine where he impaled Norgaard, there'd be calls that Mac Allister should be sold.

 

The agenda people think exists around Nunez, exists around Mac Allister.

Maybe. But then maybe he needs time on the pitch in prem games to get accustomed to the pace? Playing him in the league cup and europa against mediocre opposition is not going to prepare him very well is it?

I was in awe of Van Dijk's performance, from his defensive solididy, his leadership, his goal line clearance and his dagger like forward passes. A truly "prime" VVD performance.

Feared a dodgy result given recent efforts and with an away game against abu dhabi next there was a danger of it all looking a bit shite all of a sudden.

 

As it is we are handily placed, hopefully don't get fucked again by international shite and maybe get 1 or 2 back from injury during break - although frankly i wouldn't bank on that - but hopefully!

 

We at least then have a period with no breaks - laods of games in december and we'll know where we really stand come start of Jan.

 

Maybe for once a break has come at right time with us down to bare bones but getting a solid win and tucked in nicely.
