Christmas Song Amnesty

Good thread. I love Christmas songs.

This is a belter - Light the Night from The Snowman and the Snowdog.

I watched this just today with my youngest daughter, I was severely hungover and have to say balling my eyes out. You don't get that many Christmas's with your kids when they're young enough to believe in the magic of it all, so try and ignore all the stress and enjoy the good times.

It's quite a nice video, too.

How in the fuck are some of the songs here in an Amnesty thread? Some of the Christmas classics of our time are in here. And even the ones that are not great pop tunes will bring back great memories for lots of people at this lovely, weird time of the year.

When I was younger we had fuck all. After we kicked my ol' man out in 1980 he took most of the stuff in the house. We had no radio at home until we bought a 2nd hand one for £4 in December '85. Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin Stevens reminds me of a happy time and a newly found world that didn't rely on TOTP on a Thursday and Vincent Hanley on a Sunday afternoon. Music can transport you somewhere otherworldly but at Christmas it's even more powerful.

Merry Christmas Everyone is cheesy but boss. Same goes for Wonderful Christmastime. Neither song is amnesty material, though.
