The lad hasn't played for ages. He's in and out the squad like a yo yo. He's probably looked at the likes of Arthur, Keita and Ox and wondered what he's got to do to get a fair run. I think he's been mismanaged, personally.

How much of him not getting a 'fair run' is down to his fitness problems though?

I cant see who else we'd have there though and he's performed better than the others. I mean that's partly due to the rest being dog shit this season but Elliot is far, far down.the list of problems we have I think.

Even just the fact he looks like he's actually arsed should have him ahead of the others.

I think if the team was performing better he'd look so much better too, it can be almost impossible to perform when your team mates are stinking the place out game after game.

I'm not saying Elliot is the top of our list of problems. The fact he's playing every match is though. Being the best of our midfield this season though is like trying to pick the best Tory cabinet member. The solution isn't to pat the least shit on the back, but just get new politicians in.

In the new official parlance, this means that 'he's done'.

Some colour to the injury problems he's had and why he couldn't pay Saturday despite technically being fit.

The echo should do more of this stuff and less of the click bait shite. But I guess that'll never happen.

Curtis Jones explains unexpected absences after injury staff 'have never seen'

Jones interviewed two days ago: 'It's a stress response on the bone. It's still the same thing [from earlier in the season]. It's kind of just going and coming back again. It's frustrating, that is what I am saying.

"It's something where they have said it is something they have never seen before. It came back three times, so yes, it's been a hard time. But the staff have handled it well and like I said, there is a specialist on board now so we just follow the plan.

"You just have to rest it. In terms of the pain and stuff now, that's gone. But then, I think it's going back to when I had a run of games where I think I played five and I started three, we all thought it'd gone then.

"And then after the games it came back, so I think it is just about managing how much I am on the pitch but at the same time it is hard because at the same time, if I never go and train then how can the manager pick me?"

As disappointing as that must be to some, I can't see how that suggests that he's been badly treated, or that he's 'done'.

Oh, yes, he also added: 'The manager told me to be myself". Strange advice if Klopp and his staff are intent on coaching all the individuality out of him and turning him into 'a sterile player,' as some on here also like to claim.

He was pretty average at Chelsea but no worse than the other midfielders which isn’t too bad after such a lay-off. This article explains a lot and I expect he’s going nowhere so long as the long-term prognosis is ok.

He’s clearly been asked to do a different role in the last year or two, where he’s played further back than his previous attacking role.

If he plays on Sunday, I’d love to see him take a shot or two on, as Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago never do. In fairness to Elliott, he’s not adverse to the odd decent effort from distance.

Poor lad. I really like Curtis. Hopefully this injury will settle down enough for him to start getting a decent run of matches.

Gary Lineker secretly sneaked Monty Python lines into Match of the Day for years - Daily Star

Well, gents, before I move on to give my considered views on Marx's critique of Feuerbachian abstraction, followed by an hilarious pun, let me gesture self-consciously with my wooden-looking hands whilst you answer the question: What say you of these Liverpool players?

IST DULLARD: I'd say that at least half of them are done, Gary, your wonderfulness.

2nd DULLARD: And I'd say that at least the other half are done, too, your grace, along with all the coaching staff, the kit man, the coach driver and about three-quarters of the fans high up in the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand.

That's very much in keeping with my view, too, gents, so you must be right.

He looks to have put whatever that weird stress injury was firmly behind him. He's been excellent over the last few games, it's amazing what a run of starts can do.

Two Scousers in the team next season?

Yeah, I think he's been good, although clearly he needs to build up his physical and mental ability to last 90 mins as he seems to fade quite badly. He was terrific first half last night.

He's done pretty well,it has to be said. I much prefer him over Elliott at present but think he is capable of a goal or three and better end product, killer passes and crosses etc, when getting into those advanced positions in and around the opposing area. I'm pleased for the lad and if he stays fit he is a very, very useful squad option.

I dont think hes been brilliant but hes made a massive difference just by having loads of energy.

Could have bought someone like him for £20-30 mill easily last summer instead of fucking Arthur and we would have had a decent season.

I totally agree. The energy he has given doesn't seem to be in the legs of many others, except maybe Bajcetic, before his injury. I could add Thiago to that but he's so seldom seen he's not worth considering.
