Ken "stating the bleeding obvious" Doherty gets right on my tits. Specialises in clichés and shite.

Anyway. Gwan Ronnie lad.

I think that BBC style is 'commentate like you're talking to someone who's never watched snooker'.

Eurosport is a bit less obvious. I don't really like Neal foulds or Dominic dale though.

Honestly - based on form - the only time I thought Ronnie would win was when he was 9-7 in front.

Should he have won more in his career?

Also, I have absolute no memory of Luca Brecel winning the World's last year.

Ronnie probably should have won more noting his longevity, but when you're fighting demons as he seems to have been for a long time, maybe he's overachieved?

Brecel was superb in the world's last year, especially considering I don't think hed got past the first round previously. A deserving champion.

I think - can't be arsed checking - that he didn't win anything, or maybe won one major, between something like 97 and 04. I guess that's when he was boozing etc.

The fact that he's had to compete against Davis, Hendry, Higgins, Williams, Selby, Trump, and a few others,....and KEEPS winning, it's remarkable, really. It's never happened before and probably never will again.

Is there another sport where so many greats have continued to win for so long? Imagine starting in snooker and coming up against the likes of Higgins, Williams, Ronnie etc - all multiple championship winners.

Most sports are far to physical to allow it.

Cricket has had a few Play at the top level for years. Tendulkar went for what 24 years as a test cricketer

Bernard Hopkins fighting at world title level for 20 years(1994-2014)
