I like the way the Icelandic people bounced onto the streets and caused some shit. British people are too polite and bovine to do anything about this. So indoctrinated and worn down by the system that we just bend over and take it. It would take something a lot bigger than this for the people to rise up.

People don't have a problem with it because they secretly admire it. It's all in the game.

Nah you're right, tax dodging is not news. Can't wait for it to be brushed under the carpet and never spoken about again.

Firstly it's not illegal to tax avoid. Which means there won't be any legal charges made. Secondly, who exactly is under fire over here? All we hear is with respect to Cameron's father with a very slight cross over to Cameron himself. I really don't see anything becoming of this in the UK because no one is implicated (yet).

The City of London is the centre for money laundering and tax evasion. And it should be illegal, that's the whole point.

Then you have the cheek of the type of cunts who make the most out of these loopholes to cheat their way out of paying their fair share also being those who demonise the poor sick and out of work for being a drain on society.

I'm not sure of the ins and outs of these avoidance schemes.

However, if my understanding of them are right, they're morally repugnant. Surely they cost money to set up. Initially, and then the solicitors fees, other fees etc.

Then these people in Panama, the Cayman Isles, the BVI's etc, who agree to act as directors or whatever of these shell companies, do they get a financial reward or incentive to do so? I'm presuming so.

So, as I understand it, they're paying some money, probably to rich people, to prevent a larger sum of money going to a system which helps run a country and may help poor people.

It stinks. Why not just pay all this money to the state anyway? It's better than nothing.

They need locking up. The lot of them.

I know someone who was setting them up a few years ago to avoid paying stamp duty and they were about £40k.

David Cameron appoints Sir John Chilcot to lead inquiry into family’s tax affairs David Cameron has said he will be completely transparent about his family’s tax affairs, after appointing Sir John Chilcot to head the effort in making them public.

With the prime minister under increasing pressure to reveal whether he or his immediate family has ever benefitted financially from the use of offshore tax havens, he has moved swiftly to allay any public concerns. He told reporters, “If there’s one thing Sir John is renowned for, it’s bringing a swift resolution to matters that deeply interest the public, and I am confident this will be no different. “Sir John will have full access to our complete tax history, and as soon as he has documented his findings they will be made available to you, the public. “So let’s all just move on now, shall we?”

Sir John was asked about his new role, and admitted he was flattered to be asked. He told us, “I’m glad my track record in delivering public investigations is so warmly regarded, and I am looking forward to getting started. “I don’t want to set unrealistic expectations about publishing my findings, as there are literally several hours of work involved here. “So why don’t we just say summer 2045 to be on the safe side?”
