Went to West Ham last night, the fans said it was 32.00 not 42.00

The West Ham fans that turned up seemed 100% resigned to just laughing along as there's nothing else they can do.

I'm glad they only sold 14,000 tickets - simply because it tells West Ham (and every other club) that fans DO have limits and they aren't prepared to fork out a small fortune to watch their team 'for the sake of it'.

£32.00 quid is a lot to pay for a game that was effectively a friendly in the end.

Carroll was truly awful.

Noticed that last night and find it disgusting that they think they can charge that sort of money....and why should the fans turn up when West Ham didn't for the first leg..

Oh and have to disagree regarding Carroll.....he IS truly awful full stop.

To be fair to West Ham and indeed most clubs these days, fans struggle with money... not all do, but a lot do.

I reckon an awful lot scrimp and save for a season ticket, and then they pick and choose select away and cup matches. They just can't afford to go to them all. So, for West Ham, they were already out - it's hard to stump up £32.00 to watch a consolation game when they can put that money to a better one (if there is any 'better' at West Ham these days).

14K is awful but West Ham could have predicted it and reduced the prices, or even opened up the gates for a quid.

City have sold out for their cup game with Watford... because the tickets are £15.00 and £5.00. They know damn well they'd never sell out otherwise. I just wish clubs could understand that a young kid witnessing a packed out stadium with atmosphere MIGHT become a fan for life.... but most young kids are not going to be inspired by a half empty ground.

All that extra TV money the PL earned last year.... why couldn't they have agreed between then to spend a proportion of that on ticket subsidy?.. they nobody's any worse off, but fans benefit. Full grounds are good for TV / merchandise too.

To be fair to West Ham, I read this morning that anybody who had stumped up for a ticket could bring a kid for a quid.

The Hammers obviously looking for the next generation of youngsters to be caught crying in embarrassment at their performances.

Carroll would have recovered from injury by then.
