Great Documentaries

Wild Wild Country on Netflix is an amazing story, brilliantly told.

I've also watched the first few episodes of the excellent Flint Town (also Netflix), which follows cops in Flint, Michigan over a two-year period.

Yeah, Flint Town was very good. It was talked about a fair bit in another thread.

I’ve started WWC and I’m enjoying that too. I’m halfway through episode three (fell asleep) and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all panned out.

Right i have another one (i'm off work sick at the moment so i'm balls deep in documentaries)  anyway this one is called Murder on a Sunday morning,  it won an Oscar in 2001 and it's excellent.  It's about a 15 year old boy arrested for the murder of a tourist who was shot point blank and robbed, she was with her husband at the time and he identified the boy as the killer.  The story follows the trail and it's brilliant t.v, the lawyer involved in the case is fantastic.

Another one to get on.

Just went back a few pages there looking for more reccomendations and you did indeed.  Just watched the one about Christopher Wilder there as well, what a bastard.

Think there's a theme the docs i'm watching at the moment, if you see me on the news for murder i'm blaming this thread.  Gonna have to change the subject of documentary, Shooting Bigfoot is getting watched next.

Well then - when you see someone's typed out several lines after stating the title of something - then stop reading that too.

I just like a recommendation and then I will give it a go. Obviously the 'Bigfoot' one is an easy one to forecast but its not something I'd watch anyway. Stuff like The Thin Blue Line and The one about the 'Central Park Five' are more my cup of tea.

Well if it's any good to you i haven't given anything away, pretty much all i've mentioned in Murder on a Sunday morning happens in the first 10 minutes.

I wasn't having a go at anybody in particular,I was just asking all posters not to go into too much detail as some do on the film thread. I love a good documentary myself.

Ah fair enough, hugz x.  I'm addicted to them myself at the moment, looking forward to getting stuck into Wild wild country, it's getting great reviews.

Saw a great little documentary on the Beeb a couple of weeks back called The Watersplash Final between Leeds and Wakefield in which Don Fox missed an easy kick in front of the posts to win the trophy and how it haunted him for the rest of his life..

Obviously made me think of a certain goalkeeper and how things like that can change someone forever.

Might still be on BBC I player but here's the trailer....

Yeah was interesting that, only watched it because my dad went the game. My dad was only 10 and was in London visiting family, he went the game on his own with no ticket and a Policeman stopped him and asked what he was doing roaming London on his own, my Dad said he was going the game and the copper gave my dad a ticket.

The conditions were bonkers though, pure waterlogged pitch.
