What an absolute fuckwaste of good film time those fims are. I remember watching the first one and quite enjoying it. Since that thay've been shite. I've just watched the best part of an hour of "the fountain of youth" and I have no fucking idea what's going on, who half of the characters are or what their motives are. A confusing pile of drivel and just a showcase for Depp's 'hilarious rolling stones, keith richards' English accent.

 

Fuck off.

 

"Solaris" is on Sky Indie now. I'll have some of that instead.

Clooney. Although I've decided I'm too drunk to make proper sense of it as I'm on my third bott;e of red since the *inal *histle so I'm sky plussing it and will watch the f***ball highlights instead.

The second and third are two of the worst exapmles of excess in film I've ever seen. Horrendous.

The 2nd and 3rd needed a good script doctor/editor and an editor to chop out about 40 minutes of each film. The 4th was better but there was a lot of stuff that was left hanging there without explanation.

it's predator followed by alien,and not in the same film thank fuck, on film 4. Am settling in for some awesomeness with beers. I advise all to do the same so as to forget those shithouse pirates movies.

 

Although I strongly recommend Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge for those looking for real swashbuckling!

Yes, not that I've seen either all the way through. I watched some of the Tarkovsky one (Russian filmmaker - apparently a great film and he is one of the greatest directors of all time). But Soderbergh is also a pretty good director and the remake is apparently good in it's own way.

First one is ok, second one is utter shite. Havent seen the other two for obvious reasons.

The first one was a cracker; just pure popcorn entertainment. You didn't need to ask about the intricate plot - there wasn't one. You didn't need to be told about who was on whose side - it was obvious. Good old fashioned Hollywood goodies vs. baddies. Depp was brilliant as was (the always brilliant) Geoffrey Rush.

 

Bloom was as wooden as the ship he sailed on but it worked here.

 

The second and third films were utterly dreadful. Two of the worst films I've seen. The fourth was merely average. A real waste of a good premise.

1st one was absolutely brilliant, 2nd I fell asleep at cinema watching it, 3rd was awful, and I actually watched the 4th one last night as my 3 year old daughter is pirate mad, that was also crap, Emma liked it though but then again she's 3

Haven't seen any of the sequels because it was obvious they'd suffer from sequelitis and try to cram in too much of what worked in the first movie. The first movie is fantastic though. Superb entertainment.
