Anyone know how long he will be out for??

Hope he's back for the Mancs

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is likely to miss Liverpool's Premier League showdown with Manchester United after pulling a hamstring in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa. (The Guardian)

Don't know how reliable that is, given the Guardian is little more than a MU fanzine.

It's not remotely reliable and was written as total guesswork to inspire a bit of shock value. It may of course prove to be correct but the actual piece was written with quotes from Rafa which were given in his post match interview and before anyone knows how serious (or hopefully not serious) the injury is.

Sensational newspaper shite that they hope then can say "As we first revealed on Monday morning...." if they are lucky enough to be correct.

I think we will play him but it will be like against Arsenal last season when we brought him too soon and he was very ineffective.

Liverpool have today confirmed Fernando Torres suffered a hamstring tear during the Reds' goalless draw at Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Liverpool striker limped off during the first half of the match and has been forced to withdraw from the Spanish squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Armenia.

"A scan this afternoon has confirmed a hamstring tear in Fernando's right leg. He is expected to be out for between two and three weeks," said a club spokesman.
