First new Tool material in almost a decade. It's, in guitarist Adam Jones' words, a "movie trailer" type preview of the song, and not the whole thing. I like the sound of it a lot, but frustrating knowing it's going to be a good while before hearing the full version. Have got serious goosebumps when playing it at the moment (partly from imagining what it'll sound like when complete on an album, and what the other parts of it will be, and also partly because it's been almost a decade!), I just hope the album is done soon.

Just noticed the melody Weiland is singing here sounds almost identical in part to a Velvet Revolver song he sang. Wonder if he did that with Revolver as a type of tribute to Stone Temple Pilots? Anyway, the saying "You don't know what you've got until it's gone", seems kind of apt. RIP Scott, the first of the recent several musical losses (the one that shocked me more than the others because I used to listen to some of his stuff.)

Love the volume and sound of the drums in the mix here too.
