Some lad I know who has good contacts within LFC (and is

by no means a bullsh*tter) met one of the directors after

the match on Wednesday who was once a business partner of

his dad. Anyway this director told him that the

misunderstanding was down to Rick Parry. Apparently Rafa

was instructed to conduct his transfer activities through

Rick Parry, then Parry would inform the owners then get

the ball rolling after he'd had the ok.

So, as instructed, Rafa told Parry he wanted to bring in

three players next year, one free, one cheap and one on a

Bosman. He also planned to sell one player for a fee

greater than the player he wanted to sign so the club

would have actually made money.

Here is where the problem occurred.....Parry failed to

inform the Americans of Rafa's plans.

Anyway Rafa waited and waited but obviously never got a

response from the owners so he phoned them just before

that infamous press conference last week. The Yanks told

Rafa to do one and conduct his activities through Parry

and in the meantime concentrate on coaching his own

players (hence the repetitive statements at the press

conference).

Here's the scary part, Rafa wore that tracky at Newcastle

as a final dig at the owners, then handed his resignation

to Parry on Sunday. Realising what he had done wrong,

Parry confessed to Benitez that he had failed to inform

the owners, and Benitez immidiately withdrew his

resignation. The level of comparitive peace now at

Anfield is due to Parry informing the Americans that the

misunderstanding was all down to him. The owners are

still said to be seething at how Rafa handled it in

public but accept that it was down to Parry's ineptitude.

might have changed my mind now having read m0e's post on the 'saga' thread. Maybe this just shows how much i want to believe it though, but Rafa's words quoted in that report tie in perfectly with the scenario painted above.

it's wierd, i keep viewing this thread over and over again, and as yet there is still no confirmation that this is true and that i can relax for the next decade knowing our club is in perfect health. What the fucks going on?

I'm gonna refresh once more and god damnit ther had better be some proof this time...

As Fink said Parry can't be that stupid.

What cause would he have not to pass the news to the Yanks?

those actions don't make logical sense.

If so I can see why things between the rafa and owners appear to have cooled. It also explains.

Why parry did a disappearing act when all this kicked off. Like a naughty school boy who's broken a window. The pussy was hiding in the hope it would blow over.

Why Parry was quick with todays statement. Trying to make up for being a complete berk over the rafa business.

I know the takeover included him keeping his job but if thats true the yanks must be thinking of giving him his marching orders for gross imcompetance!

Strangley it also ties in with that rumour that went round on Sunday that rafa was out.

Actually that all seems to conveinent. Nothing is that neat and tidy, especiallywhen it comes to the Liverpool boardroom!

Doesn't really flow does it.

"Some lad I know,

He's no bullshitter,"

...needs more cowbell.

Some lad I know

brought a tale of woe

A story about our boss

and how he was at a loss

you see our chief exec.

is not the highest of spec.

He needs to be told

that this clown act is getting old.

If lets our boss walk away

he'd regret it every day.
