Colin Murray has quit as a presenter on the radio station talkSPORT.

 

The Northern Ireland man has taken the decision over the recent takeover of the station by the Rupert Murdoch owned News Corp and its relationship with The Sun.

 

Murray is a Liverpool supporters and fans of the Merseyside club have boycotted the paper over its reporting of the Hillsborough disaster.

 

After starting our in journalism in Belfast, the radio presenter worked with the BBC at Radio One and on Match of the Day 2.

 

He was offered a contract with talkSPORT until 2019. His last show will be on September 2.
