Yeah fuck him for maximizing his earnings in this very short career of his.

So if he had signed we'd for us we'd be happy but questioning why he's not maximising his earnings?

Im sure he wouldnt have struggled financially wherever he went- in my eyes (albeit biased)- if you have offers from Liverpool and Chelsea there only one choice you would make- not because I support them- to work with Jurgen Klopp would be a fairly decent start

I think I’m done with all this new fangled obsession with transfers now. Some people pay more attention to it than the actual game on the pitch. What this saga (and many others) have taught us is that half of these Twitter chancres know fuck all, or nowhere near as much as they pretend to know, and are just social media click/like whores more concerned with building their own reputations and professional status. And, now, bank balance because of Elon’s monetisation of Twitter engagement.

If we sign someone, we sign someone. Hardly anybody knew anything about Szoboszlai. The only time to get excited is when there’s a lean or something equally as cheesy on the official social media channels.

Anything else is just agenda driven noise.

Gerrard wanted Chelsea ahead of us after winning the CL. In the event he decides to join us, we’d be foolish to nix the deal because a 21 year old is indecisive.

he didnt really

he thought we werent that arsed about keeping him

Assuming this doesn't go through, it's job done for FSG isn't it?  Discontentment with them was actually starting to grow, now this'll just take the heat off for a bit. They made the funds available but the player didn't want to come, what more could they do?

Tribal? No mate, facts.

Chelsea finished bottom half last season - fact.

We’ve finished above them 6 years in a row - fact.

Chelsea won the Champions League more recently than us, mate, get a grip. They're not Everton. You do the groundwork on a player, you probably get rewarded. You come in at the last minute like a desperate twat, you get burned.

Imagine coming from very humble beginnings, fighting yourself into a football career in Europe. You do well and get into the Premier League and you do even better on the pitch. Then one club comes in with a massive offer for you and tremendous wages. Then another club comes in and tells you “Hey, bud, we can only offer 60% of the wages you get from the London club, but at least we have a rich history, you in?”

Why the hell would he care? History and Koop might be pulls if we are offering wages on par with our rivals, but why on earth would a 21 year old from Ecuador give a fuck about the history of football clubs on a different continent when signing his next contract?

There’s no way in hell we made that offer without sounding out the player first. We’re in the game long enough.

Something fucking sneaky has happened with those Chelsea cunts since our offer has been accepted.

no, of course not. all the ones who like them and want to give them the benefit of the doubt will say "at least they backed the manager, the money was there, not their fault" as they always do. it's been a perfect distraction for them this, it's taken the heat off not getting the business done and maybe even have a lot of our fans quite content going into the season with the squad as it is because "at least we tried".

Goes back to what I said that triggered this little chat- says more about him- the figures might stack up for him- if thats the be all and end all then fine (keeping in mind he woudln't have struggled to put food on the table at Liverpool) then that makes him a little bit of a tit in my eyes.

Go play at Stamford Bridge

Or they've made things worse for themselves by getting beaten on a transfer, which'll rile up a section of the fanbase. Or they've made things worse for themselves by showing we've got >£100m to spend on a single player, which will lead to more calls to spend money.

They don't give a shit what fans think about their tenure, they never have; this is just a case of trying to leverage an opportunity and then a rival (who've put more legwork into the deal than us so far) sticking to their guns. I just don't think there's a conspiracy here.

I disagree, but that's fine.

Well they better spunk it somewhere else. Pavard and Lavia would do the job. That or John’s just told Linda to take her bikini top down and close her eyes.
