The one thing that really surprised me about Endo last night was his eye for a quick incisive pass. Not just winning the ball and popping it off to a midfielder. His head is up and it starts quick transitions. Lads got a brain.

When was the last time we had a genuine goal scoring threat from midfield in open play?

 

Gerrard under Benitez? 14 years ago. Even then, Mascherano & Alonso were barely any threat. 
 

I know Gerrard scored a few under Rodger’s, majority of them were free kicks or penalties.

Shit, I was just scrolling through twitter and saw Szobo's goal, I didn't even know about the game until I saw that and was just thinking about the next PL match. I think it was obvious he was going to hit something like that at some stage and definitely a bit gutted that I wasn't watching the game where it happened.
