They were checking whether he thought the defender deflected the ball or not, surely. Otherwise it's not a matter of interpretation.

It did happen the other week and still no idea why.  It was Forest vs Newcastle (not us as I suggested earlier, but I did know it was a match I took some interest in).

If people want to make big kneejerk proclamations on one of our players it should be Diaz, who has offered almost no moments of explosiveness or goal threat since his return.

Is it me or is the rule that the defender has to INTENTIONALLY  play the ball to an attacker? When did that rule change if it is? Once it hits a defender, it's a new phase of play surely?
