If it’s just individuals then yeah that’s probably it but if you want them to actually play as an team You would have to consider hyppias lack of pace if you were to play a Klopp style high line.

tough to leave out mane though.

Mascherano has no business being near the squad IMO, as he lacked quality on the ball. I’d replace him with Didi or Fabinho, and play Gerrard as an AM. Torres was a great player for us, but not quite as good as Suarez, and I wouldn’t play a weird formation to accommodate both, as we could easily field Mane. I’d personally pick Carra before Hyypia, that’s neither here nor there. Thiago has a higher ceiling than Xabi but Xabi probably deserves being in the team for his longevity. I’ve fixed the team for you.

That would 100% be my team.
What’s startling is that, if you extend it to the best XI of the last 30 years (so including 1992-2002) it’s hard to make a case for adding anyone. I loved McManaman but I don’t think he edges out Mane, Gerrard or Salah for an attacking place, and Owen doesn’t touch Suarez. Fowler is the only one in the conversation

-----------------------Alisson

Trent--------VVD--------Matip------Robbo

--------------Fabinho---- Alonso

----------------------Gerrard

Salah-------------Suarez------------Mane

Basically incorporated 3 of the best players into our most successful team/system of the last 30 years.

Hyypia just missed out due to his pace as mentioned already.

C’mon mate. Brilliant player.

You don’t make it in that Guardiola Barca team lacking quality on the ball.

Edit - Although saying that, I’m struggling to get him in my squad as well.

I’ve gone for a 22 man squad…

Alisson / Reina

TAA / Arbeloa

Carra / Matip

VVD / Hyypia

Robertson / Aurellio

Gerrard / Hendo

Alonso / Fabinho

Thaigo / Gini or Mascherano

Salah / Sterling

Suarez / Torres

Mane / Coutinho

Yeah he was a very good DM but too limited on the ball. I’d have Gerard, Alonso, Didi, Fabinho, Thiago and Hendo before Mascherano.

I know Voronin & Diouf weren’t great players (and Diouf an absolute cunt) but, at times, they did contribute for us.

Nowhere near enough, but on fleeting occasions.

Balotelli, Lambert, Borini & Markovic offered nothing at all,

Thank fuck I’ve mostly forgot about all this shite. We’re spoilt at the moment and should appreciate what we have more.

For me, Voronin gets in because he arrived when he was ostensibly at his peak, with Benitez talking about the various roles he could play (main striker, second striker, coming from wide) but he was just bad at all of them and moaned about the city.
Diouf? A duff first season, and an absolute disgrace in his second. Rafa’s determination to get rid as soon as possible immediately gave him credit in my eyes. Anelka was a striker who could blow hot and cold, had huge question marks over his attitude, etc, but he’s still seen as a great What If? because Diouf blew lukewarm and cold, and there were no question marks over his attitude because he was just a cunt.

That is one ridiculous team. Three Scousers in it too. Under Klopp, it would win the quadruple, get about 110 points in the league and go unbeaten all season.

I wouldn't have Carra near the best XI. I'd put at least three of our current centre backs ahead of him.

I’d have Carra over any of them bar Virg. Hugely clever player. Total winner and leader. Massively underrated as a footballer too. Klopp would fucking love him.
